Messy. Why don't you take the power supply and other junk out? Your electrical stuff should be up higher. Water splash from feeding and higher humidity after watering probably won't be to good for the electricals.

Oh this is far from finished, I'm going to install a wall that'll go flush with the psu and have the scrubber inside, so that way the 120mm fan inside the psu can help pull air through that. Sorry I wasn't more descriptive. My mom and gf wanted to go have dinner so I couldn't really explain everything. Thanks for the advice though ^^.

I also am going to cut the wires on the light so it won't be so bunched up. Yesterday I had that 2nd case all cleaned out, so I did all the wiring / soldering / shrink wrapping and stuff yest and didn't make it neat since it took me a few hours to lay everything out. As I improve it and such I plan on posting pics.

Oh the power supply is just a hollowed out one with a 120mm fan sucking air into it and pushing it out the back. I wired my electrical outlet to it from the info I got on another post on here. I would just have the grill to it if it didn't have a nice opening with a fan.

is your light mounted with foil tape? if so i'd recommend securing it better...with heat + humidity some tape can lose it's "stick" or start to warp a little..

are you going to work the scrubber into the powerbox or just in the sectioned off area?..if you plan on keeping the powersupply in there, you might as well utilize the space in side of it with a scrubber, or mini drying room or whatever.

I'm going to divide it like the case in Mr. Micro's post. found here:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=59654

I like the pop off air tight filter with ease of changing the scrubber.

Also on a note, I'm getting materials for this a week at a time since my job can't really fun full mats from start to finish, but in the mean time I do a lot of reading / searching through this forum for great ideas.

My next batch of materials I have coming in is a air pump / air stone/ air tubing. Either going to make a dwc or have the stone pump air into water on the side to encourage good bacteria to grow.

For me this is going to be a very organic process that hopefully when finished will look a lot different than how it does now. Even as we speak I'm modifying it some more.

Ah Thanks for the advice. It slipped my mind. I will eventually get some metal screws and one of those strips of metal with holes so i can mount it.

Here's the work from today:

Removed that pink fan from the back... It looked cool but was impractical, plus how stealthy is that? Ever see a fan mounted to a psu on the back of a pc? :noway:

Al-Taped off the back for most of the light sealing..
b-set003.jpg

Cut the lights wires since they were too long.
b-set004.jpg

Opened up my shutters a bit more since they were shut and turned the light on...
b-set005.jpg

I swear I'm watching weeds on my tv, reguardless of whatever dvd may be in the picture... :angrymod:
b-set006.jpg

In the dark I still have some light leaks but I'll handle that either with the black caulk method or some tape or maybe both who knows...

I noticed a bit ago that one of the first two 'round' leaves started to wither up but the rest of the other leaves look fine. Anyone have any ideas what may be the culprit?

Do you know you can buy the proper holders for the bulbs? Here they are usually called "batten fixtures" or something similar to that. Rock solid and easy to attach. Get em at a hardware store cheap. Hope it helps.

Scrub the ones I found look like the long bulb style fixtures. I'll keep my eye out through since this is my first time hearing about the fittings.

Cheers bro! This is what the australian ones look like. They seem to have a lot thinner baseplate so they can be mounted closer together than the usual US ones I see. But the US ones do seem a lot shorter which would be much better for your position. Or like you said you can use a bracket or something to simply mount the one you have.

(48w bulb by the way)

Ah thanks for the pic :D I see what you mean, we needed to mount a ton of them in low-voltage school... Yeah not too sure how the final lighting will be. I'm thinking that if I mount 2-3 at the top and have some fans / glass keep em cool then I will be set.

I'm far from finished on this baby. I got the air diffuser / tubing in yesterday, just waiting for the air pump to come in before i finish building that scrubber wall. Thanks for tuning in anyone thats taking the time to scan through this.

10 pack of 'stockings' that was used in the construction of my filter.
d-set005.jpg

It's 1" bigger than the one used in the tutorial but thats only because they were out of the 3" grates.

You can see the activated carbon in this one..
