If you search deep enough you will see the BLM is selling fracking rights in that area also. Supposedly oil has been found on the land in question and the BLM is itching to auction off the fracking licenses on that land. Guess who keeps the money from the BLM fracking licenses. Thats right, the BLM. This stinks. The FED stinks.
How anyone but a fool would believe anything that comes from any of these crooked alphabet soup agencies is beyond me. The FED fish is rotten from head to tail. The turtles are an excuse , a cover. Who here thinks the BLM really gives a flying fuck about turtles???

All this rancher had to do was pay the fee , which it turns out was only about $1.35 a cow per year.
That's right, this only became a situation because this idiot of a farmer
was too stupid and cheap to pay $1,350 per year approximately for
1,000 head of cattle. A ridiculously low fee for using thousands of acres that was not his.
Absurd that even one person is defending this idiot, anyone should be embarrassed for defending such blatant stupidity.
Our government certainly deserves criticism but not even one bit in this case. The fees were extremely low, easily recouped and the idiotic farmer is not being "forced" off the land - it was his stupidity in not paying such minimal fees for 20 years. In any business there are expenses, 1-2 cows a year would have paid for unlimited use of thousands of acres which fed these cattle - the cost of feed on smaller land would far, far exceed the paltry $1,350 per year.

Hey y'all is it true that bundy owes 1.1 millon dollars in rent since '93? Read that on a link one of y'all post. He owes us that much and the BLM has let him get away with that for 20 damn years? We need our money now don't we? Damn free loader. Did his family homestead the land? You homestead didn't each family get 160 acres? What happened to the what 140 acres? Get sold off after 5 years? 20 plus years later, he Still hasn't made alternative arrangements for pasture land. Nor apparently, did he reduce his head count to match the size of his deeded pasture?
Somehow I can't square, that he has a RIGHT to pasture my/our land?
I don't view the 'leasing' of public lands as pasture, much differently than leasing them to mining interests either. Nor am I pleased with the idea that we should 'sell off' our public lands.

I've read it closely, and quoted it for you twice now. You called me a teabagger, which is an insulting twist on Tea Party based on an a somewhat odd sexual practice. Now, considering your obvious leanings, you obviously didn't intend the term as an endearment. Additionally, I don't subscribe to any political party - I've always voted for whoever I considered to be the best person for the job regardless of their affiliation. Unfortunately, good people on either side of the aisle are far more endangered than the desert tortoise.

I continue to be astounded at the responses from a bunch of people who are attracted to this site based on breaking an 80-year old law.
