Is anyone using the roots soiless mix? It's coco cut with a bunch of perlite and other goodies. How are the results? I am wondering if I should run coco specific nutes with it or I can run whatever?? I wanna run iguana juice in it. I'm about to transplant 9 sour diesel clines into the mix so I suppose Ill see what happens!

i have used that brand,, as well as many others - bcuzz, canna, botanicare boss, botanicare aeration mix, tupur, and sunshine

my personal favorite is sunshine hands down. but it all really depends on what you are after. sunshine gave me the best yields by far because of how aerated it is.. far more then some coco-perlite mixes and the other coco i have tried,, especially roots organic

if you can snag sunshine you will be impressed with the rate of growth in drip / flood

i always preflush every coco brand no matter what, also i precharge with calmag/ light nutes

peace!

I have used it, and can recommend it. Don't flush it though.
It is high quality, and ready to use.
If you flush it you are rinsing out the amendments you just paid for.

When I tried roots organics and coco my seedlings started dying. As I'm sure you've heard, coco is basically a hydro medium and if you are going to go organic you need to get a good microbe base thriving. Also I would still add a bit of Cal-mag.

I'm currently in my 3rd grow, 1 plant (Skywalker) 100% FFOF and 1 plant (Afghan Kush Special) 100% Coco. I've been giving the Afghan Kush Floranova bloom + calmag and it seems to be loving it....and will give it a simple molasses/kelp and Roots Oregonism tea to start to switch to organics for flowering.

Anyway my point is just make sure the plant is getting enough cal-mag and there are plenty of bennies to help feed the plant./

We are talking about the actual coco medium that roots organics makes..

i've used it. it works well. i had a pretty severe fungus gnat problem from it. for some reason gnats love coco coir. i also noticed is when you add organic food, composts, kelp, and molasses/sugars they breed faster and in bigger numbers. just make sure you pre-treat any soil or coco coir with organic or chemical preventative measures. in the summer the problem is even bigger with high heat. i believe most soil that come from hydro-shops or warehouses have eggs or even larvae. roots organic had a lot.

i tried it, i wouldnt use it again u want coco, go with straight coco regardless of brand, the roots mixed stayed to wet and roots were struggling...

It's decent stuff, kinda like a soil coco hybrid mix. If you wana go coco I would agree with the other posters and just pick up their pure coco or cana. RooTs pure coco mixed with their crutons is pretty good too.
