Stem turns brown when drying?

Iv never looked inside a dry bid but I busted open a thick OG Kush and a few had mold and lots had brown.
I simply tossed the mold bud out but lots have a browning near then stem when I took the nodes apart.
Brown like when you dry a banana on a food dehydrator.

The brown when under a black light shows no mold and looks fine but what is the brown Cristal looking stiff deep inside the nugget?
I dried on a drying rack in perfect condition's but still im new and confused.

A friend said its because it never gets light and goes light dusty brown.

Its an OG kush.

Note: there is no fuzzy stuff, Im just a noob, Iv never opened a nugget.

cut open the stems, arre they redish/brown? if so im pretty sure thats a sign of fusarium, pythium. never grew any "kush" but i do exclusivly grow out afghani and pure indica strains, which are a lot like OG kush in the lineage, and i too have seen the totally red stems after drying once in a while on a plant or so.

i have been paranoid lately of TMV, or "tobacco mosaic virus", and i guess this virus and the "hemp streak virus are closely related and are impossible to get rid of unless you kill all plants and disenfect the entire room, like Mr. Monk style.

a sign of these diseases is mosaic paterns on random leaves, top or bottom or middle of plant, and overall lack of vigor, and in the best case scenario, it WILL DEFINATELY cut yeild in half.

okay i just looked at the pick, you posted as i was posting that why i didnt catch it before my post,

well you have pulled back some of the "bark" on the stem and it looks nice and white and healthy, so it isnt something like fusarium or pythium at all, honeslty it looks okay, but that little bit of brown near the top center of the pic ( bottom most corner of the bud) might be some bud mold, but idk, get a close up pic

You can download that and expand it you can see its red and brown hairs.
No white harry mold, some are crystals, no smell and does not fall apart.

I mean I know what mold looks like and I just simply toss it out.

The photo is 2 megs and usually Windows Photo Viewer will let you expand into the photo.

what do you mean you "never ripped a bud apart" have you ever smoke pot? if you have smoked, which i am 100% you have, then you have DEFINATELY rippped open a bud before.
