I don't see any difference in the three most commonly found one part, liquid Ca Mg supplements.

CalMax
Cal-Mag Plus
MagiCal

Accept that CalMax is generally the least expensive and Cal-Mag Plus the most expensive.

Their nutrient ratings are exactly the same.

2-0-0 3.25% Ca 1.25% Mg .10 - .11% Iron

and there is Aggrene Natural Liquid Lime Ca 7% Mg 4%

And now for something completely different.

General Organics CaMg+ Ca 5% Mg 1%

i've been using 750 ppm flora nova bloom at the .5 conversion, 100ppm calcium nitrate, and 50ppm magnesium sulfate on all my plants in veg.

in flower i drop the calcium nitrate and use calcium chloride at the same dose.

i paid $28 for the 50 lb bag cal-nit and $5 for the 6 lb magnesium sulfate.

a bottle of cal-mag+ goes for 43 bucks and is very dilute. i have enough cal-nit to last the rest of my life.

there are pics of my plants at

the cal-nit is greenhouse grade, which means it goes instantly into solution and won't clog injectors. the mag-sul is pharmaceutical. these are precisely the chemicals in cal-mag+

Bravo:biggrin:

This is both the most precise and controllable method to control cal/mag levels, and by far the cheapest.
I find the N in Cal/Mg+ to be a negative, as much as a positive. For example in late flower.

If some of these preferred chems aren't available, another option is Hydrated Lime and Epsom Salt.
Hydrated Lime giving you your Cal in Calcium Hydroxide, and the Epsom Salts giving Mag & Sul.

~1gr/gal Hydrated Lime will give 130ppm Ca.
~.3gr/gal Epsom Salt will give 50ppm Mag & 60ppm Sul

It's best to dissolve a more dilute master solution to dose from, as these will be more soluble already in water and reacted. You can also make a precise mix with less accurate equipment this way.

Sensi Cal from Advanced I believe is the product name is very similar to this with micros as well, but for 30 a liter I'll get those micros elsewhere:).

yes, this is why i drop the cal-nit at onset of 12/12. there is enough residual calcium nitrate in the res and medium to help feed the stretch a little bit. the calcium chloride is perfect for flower.

other reasons

other reasons

i wanted to add that this treatment turns the flora nova bloom into a more "veg" profile. let's me get away with having a "one part" nute.

also i don't feed them this every time anymore. i now feed this solution once and then the flora nova bloom alone twice at 950 ppm. as i have leftover solution in my mixing container it will still have some left at a more dilute strength. the plants really seem to like the treatment. i have zero deficiencies showing.

you will get a noticeable increase in growth rate in veg.

and, with ro water this will ph at 5.8 or so and remain stable, floating back and forth between 6.0-6.5. no ph adjusters.

well after a few waterings with cal+mag mono nutes, things are looking ALOT better, growth has really taken off, I thank you once again for making me aware of them m8! not sure if its coincedence but definite improvement since I started using them.
