update

well here are todays pictures of what's going down in the weatherbox. i trimmed up my ladies last night to stimulate top growth and get a more even canopy. i couldn't have asked for a more healthy and easy plant to grow than the white rhino. however, the purple lady is a tough strain to prune given that everything i'm doing is completely new to me. some of the side branching from the lst'd growth caught up with the top growth and i'm not going to cut them down (hopefully this doesn't effect the flowers yield/potency too much). the thai's are setting up for take off finally it was such a slow starting strain although both germinated overnight and sprouted over their first two days in soil. the northern lights clone is bouncing back.. im going to flip to 12/12 by thursday or friday. the screen is looking about 80% full. much love and thanks again to the few that hung around during veg. maybe more will start to look and give more good advice during the show? :joint:
biggreen: dude 20/4 has been rockin' their growth. thanks a lot brotha!~

Hey bud 20/4 rocks the shit out of em. You might wanna give em a couple extra days veg maybe them little ones will catch up. How much head room do you have in there? Other than that they great kick ass job.

the box is only 5ft tall minus the hood and the 14-18 inches i think a 400w hps should be from the tops.. from the floor to the screen i believe i lost another 19 or so inches as well. i know that if the plants stretch no more than two feet during flowering i should be fine.
thanks man, its always nice to hear good things about my grow.

I love an indoor organic grow! just something about the fun of it all, and it looks like you are having fun in here!
don't be worried too much about stretch using the scrog..if you absolutely have to, you can always tie those bitches down some using the screen to anchor to.
I'll be :lurk:

thanks for stopping by my friend. you're right this is a l o t of fun.. growing organic makes me feel like i'm making healthy choices.. time to go get some carne asada fries :p. TOMORROW is GAME DAY. Time to stank things up a bit:lurk::lurk::lurk::canabis:

ok so a quick question. my "grow" formula (6-4-3) only called for 4tsp/gal during veg for flowers. today i made the flip to 12/12 and the "bloom" formula (2-6-6) calls for 7.5tsp/gal flowers. should i do what it calls for now that the plants are used to tea's? or should i start them on a lower bloom dose. keep in mind for bloom i also have a 1-1-1 organic base enhancer.

What has your research told you? How do you feel the plant would react to a full dose?
Many things come into factor here. When is the last time they were fed on the veg schedule? At what dosage? Have the containers dried out enough to give them another watering/feeding yet?
I would start out at half when they are ready, and then see what the plants tell you to do..

hehehe...

BANG! They expoloded! lol... High WB, lookin real good man! I'm kinda curious though, yuv LST so well ( good job! ), why do ya feel the need ta add the screen? Yield-wise, ( proper ) LST vs Scrog is like six of one, half a dozen of the other. So I don't think yer gaining anything by having it in there. I think yul find it ta be a big pain in the butt once it gets full in that confined of a space. If ya don't use a screen, you can still pull the plants out if ya have to. Food fer thought if ya have any problems later in the grow, and for trimming, harvesting, etc...... Anyhoo, good luck whatever ya decide! I'll stop back later and see how things are goin. Take care... BC

i am going to start them on the same dosage they were on in veg since they loved it.. then slowly move up to 7.5tsp if it seems they could use it. there's no point in overkill. i feed them every third watering with nutes and every other watering with molasses. so they only get 1 plain r/o watering for every 3 waterings.

thanks brotha.. i've been noticing that the screen reallly reallly gets in my way. it also is going to make draining the excess water messy if i fuck up at all. i just figured that lst into scrog would increase yield and help keep the plants down some more? i've considered just taking the screen out a few times because of its limitations. it really discourages me.. i dunno but i better make up my mind fast because flowering starts tonight. >.< it would suck to decide against scrogging because i already spent time, money, and effort on that screen.. SHIT.

i weighed pros and cons and decided to remove the screen. even during veg i found it extremely hard to trim the lower growth with the screen in place. with the small 4 x 3 space and an almost 3 x 2 screen it made things impossible. plus i could accidently bump the screen and snap/damage things. also, removing the pots from their water dishes was a huge unecessary chore. ill just continue to tie down if necessary. looks like its going to be only lst for this grow until i have more room. the plants already look happier under the hps without the screen. pics in the next few days when they start to respond to 12/12.

edit: for those who care, i ordered some more seeds.
the line up:
1. reserva privada kandy kush (trainwreck x og kush)
2. dutch passion durban poison
3. barneys farm lsd
4. mandala satori
5. mandala hashberry

Nice and bushy
hehe thanks.. i wonder if i should tie down some of it to spread it out a little more and get more light to the lower leaves. so it's almost day three and not a lot stretching has occurred on either bush. the thai's are stretching alooott already. and the clone isn't doing much. more pics soon. they are lovin' life without the screen i'm sort of glad i removed it.

Hell ya tie her down you want more bush right. If you hit the right strain for a scrog it kicks major ass.

High WB, I think ya made the wise choice goin without the screen. Trust me, you didn't wanna deal with that.... You have the right idea to keep training. I'd pull the shoots a part alil bit so they're not crowded, like spreading the fingers apart on yer hand. Try an keep all the fingers tips level at the same height. This will help spread the auxins ( a growth hormone ) evenly over all the fingers. Otherwise the tallest ones will get the majority of it and quickly out grow the rest. We want them even, so it pushes the yeild of the whole plant.

Somethin else ya might wanna consider. These plants will continue ta use alot of N until the stretch stops. You have vegged in this soil fer a over a month now, so there's prolly not alot N left in it. It would prolly be a good idea ta give em another round with the veg nutes while they're still usin alot of it. About the time the stretch stops, the plants signals change and the demand for large amounts N is no longer necessary, this is the time for flower nutes. I jus don't wanna see ya run short on N prematurely in flower.

I'll stop back later. BC

damn, i had no idea.. i was going to start feeding it bloom formula for the next watering. i'll feed it grow formula one more time. this will give it about two more weeks to stretch and grow.

Oh...

Oh...

I wouldn't worry about the small ones, they can depend on the soil, since it's fairly fresh. later, BC

Nice Cab WB

Good clean setup, you wont miss the screen it's just a pain in the ass, you can train the plants to get the same effect, with better results, with less hassel, it's always good to have plants you can move about scrog eliminates that freedom.

Good work for a first time round :respect:

thanks man!!:joint: i just spent the last hour tying down each stem of the white rhino. it was just a more massively spread out bush when i was done. it took up space and light from the other plants. i think they look perfectly healthy and the lower growth is getting enough light as is. so i untied everything... lmao!! i'll just tie down if i need to in the future in case the stretch gets to be too much. damn i wasted a good amount of time there.

ok so ive said before that i water every four days. the plants have been loving it since i started them on this schedule. now the past two waterings i've noticed that by day three before their watering the large lst'd wr and pl begin to sag considerably. they perk right up after day four when they get their watering. i may have already answered my own question but should i water those two more frequently now? like every third day? i thought that drooping was a sign of overwatering, but is it a sign of underwatering as well? i know these questions are stupid but i just want to make sure im doing every little detail right.
maybe i overthink these things and should just do what my gut tells me.
