Lacto Bacilli Question

Did anyone else's lacto bacilli culture (the one made from ricewater and milk) smell like rotten ass? I didn't see any mention of smell so I'm a bit concerned.

I followed the tutorial you posted, with 1% milk from the grocery store and brown basmati rice. I'm pretty danged sure that setting it on my furnace was where shit went wrong.

if you set it on your furnace, you will have results much much faster because of the heat, it probly finished faster and then went bad( which honestly ive yet to see a batch do myself) it works fine at room temp. it should smell slightly sour and sweet, with a hint of alcohol.

That must've been what happened, I let it go as long as you said without checking in between days so... time to start another. Thanks for the help.
