HELP KOOL DA MINI

Well here goes I'm running a 400 watt HPS, in a mini box. My numbers are

10"x23" and 33 1/4" high, its in a cool tube on 165 or 185 cfm. So far I

got 4 two inch holes, my temps in there are 114 degrees. I dont want to

go to the cfl's but if i cant kool this down.

Any help is appreciated in advance thanks.

That 400 is just not going to work in there. Your working with 1.6sq ft or 250W/sq ft. Rough max with HID lighting is 100W/sq ft, and people get great results with 50-75W and lower.

If you want HID lighting in there a 150W is the max you could use, at 94W/sq ft. If your ambient temperatures are ever over 75 outside the cab a 100W might be better to deal with heat issues.

A baking oven yes, a grow chamber-----No. You are generating approximately 1376 BTU's of heat per hour in a chamber totaling 7,590 cu inches or 4.39 cubic feet (1728 CI in a Cu Ft) and you have a light, plants and other devices in there reducing the free air space. The values as noted above are based on the lamp as a heat source and does not deduct for venting. I think you can see the problem you face.

Back to the drawing board so to speak, drop down one forum to Micro Grows and you will find some micro-maniacs that have their mini-grows dialed in tighter than a Pawn Brokers pocketbook.

Thanx a million guys, I figured my dreams were too big in hps department

I went and bought two 42 watt and two 23 watt cfl's I'm gone fill the top wit

fixed positioned lights I think I can get about 8 of em in on those y

connectors, I really want sum hps light though, and thanx again for the

numbers guys.

Consider a 250 CMH. More red than HPS, more blue than MH all in one bulb. It was too much for my 76 CFM axial fan but my 4" inline Elicent fan handles it easily. FYI my space is 22x29x54 inches.

Ok, Ok the 400 watt is a dream too big for this project, so I've changed

over to two 42watt cfls and two 23's I put on a y connector. tempts w/o

the blower is about 84-86 degrees f. Wit the blower it stayed in the range of

76 and 79 degrees f.

Do u guys think if I put more intakes it will lessen my heat a little more?

I plan on still throwing in two more 42 watters or 50 watt - 70 watt hps

light I saw in homedepot for 30 bucks. Though im rady to get growing.

Its been about 8 months since my first attempt wit my 400 in a 3x3 closet.

Started but couldnt finish n in dat, look:

here's da plants I had germ'd dem N 1.5" rocwool cubes, I dont have too

much patence (i know i spelled that wrong) couldn't wait for roots to come out the

cubes so I ripped the cubes off the roots, I dont recomend that to anybody,

I think I stunted the growth And those root got sum kind of grippers wit dat

rocwool I was tearing off the cube and was like um, um, velcro. It,s like

not being a doctor doing surgury cutting n sumones body dont plan doing

that anymore jus gone do the old fashoned and provened paper towels.

anyway got to uload these my first. Just sum millium bud from dr.greenthumb













wish I knew about seedbay jus put for sum kalichakra for 24 dollars cant beat that.
