What do you do with the flowers that you grow?
I do the usual dry and cure, then get out my trusty seal-a-meal vacuum machine, seal them up and freeze them. I have some that are close to 3 years old frozen and stored.

Then my coffee grinder does it's job on the buds and it goes into 1 gr cookies that I score into 4 sections.
I have daytime sativa leaning cookies and cookies for the evening that lean heavily towards muscle relaxation and sleep.
During week days, I mostly only use a cookie in the evening, I find this works best for my medical needs.
During the weekend I will use a 1/4 section or less during the day, same in the evening.

Sometimes during the summer if I have a work project I will use some cookie for my get up and go. The older I get, the slower I get. I lack the energy and motivation of my younger days. Too many chronic health problems and age.

On my last grow I grew something called Jamaicn Dream, the effects would make my body feel relaxed but my brain would be very active. Something I'm not use to.

future It’s not looking for Social Security. I’m entitled I’m going to apply immediately … i’ll be 64 in a couple months full retirement benefits don’t kick in till I’m 67 but I can start collecting and the difference is not that much especially if it’s going to go bust in 10 years View attachment 19151556
That's one thing I feel good about, my public pension will out last me and according to records there is 75 years left in public pension at this time.

While it is not a great amount of money, we would be living sub standard without it.

When I left my first marriage, I must have felt very guilty because I turned over our property and pensions to my wife/son. Thinking I could make up for it but it did not work out that way. This is what an over active OCD mind frame can bring about.
It's all water under the bridge and does no good in me thinking...
As my old friend use to say...would've, could've, should've

Floating some ideas out loud to myself you know for a long time I’ve been realizing probably should retire from growing weed for profit other than day-to-day chump change. I do not want to be tied down to a gigantic farm this year. My parents are very elderly if I could figure out a way of dealing with the fish I wouldnt have anything tying down me up here, (except for maintenance on two pieces of real estate ) It would mean a lot of back-and-forth, but I’m running out of time to be with them. I have put them on the back burner like a selfish fuck for so long. The guilt is terrible.

I think that ship has sailed Star. Grow for yourself, and go see mom and dad while you can.

Larch lose their needles in winter around here. They’re also known as Tamarack.?
Yes, same here in BC, they are called Tamarack or Larch, most people call them Larch. The Larch tree was my favorite firewood to burn over Douglas Fir, no splinters like the fir give off.

The forests were the Larch is abundant look fantastic in the fall, just love them.
Yep, they use up their nutrients in the fall and the needles go a lovely golden color and fall off eventually.
I love standing high up in the mountains and look down on all the golden larch trees. While I can no longer do the things like in the past. My memory of the feelings will live on.

I started collecting at 64, had planned on waiting until 65 even though for my age I think the full retirement was like 66 and 7 months or some shit like that. I'm a year older than Harley and had much construction work and remodeling to do here at the house before she retired.

For us, it worked out great.(y)

Now, Social Security going bust has been bantered around since the '80s and I hope that's not your sole criteria for wanting to start collecting. When it gets that close to going broke, the politicians will be _forced_ to do something and I'm almost positive it's not going to be cutting benefits.

I went deep down the Social Security Rabbit Hole before I started collecting, and unless you live past 80 or 82, you come out ahead if you start pulling it out when you're 63-64. I never thought I'd make it to 30, and the way my body seems to be falling apart the last 5 years, I'm not sure I'll make it to 80.:ROFLMAO:

But they definitely entice you... the longer you wait, the bigger your check.

My life was a disaster (if I went by according to the plans that I had actually laid out for myself 30 years ago…. ) So hard to let go of it all. I like to complain, but I ain’t doing halfbad though :)it’s all relative
Even though it's exceedingly difficult to do when you get to be our age and start reflecting on the past, I usually go back to a book I read in high school Richard Alpert/Baba Ram Dass, Be Here Now when I'm feeling that way.

When I start worrying about the future or regretting the past, I remember those words, just be here now.☮️

I do all edibles, all the time and I grind before I decarboxylate, while Harley's still vapes. So before I use it, I brush out all of the keif-like material that adheres to the top and give it to Harley to vape, cause that won't have any effect on me.

As you can tell, it didn't get really cleaned very often.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, I used to deal with cases of asbestosis all the time back in the '70s. The fact that you're in your mid-70s and still kicking it lets me know what a tough fucker you are. (y)
@oldmaninbc also suffers from asbestosis and cannot smoke. Maybe you have suggestions for him or vice versa? Have you two met? Doobz PS happy Valentine's Day 💌

Too complicated in the social security administration website I made an appointment with a local satellite office. They can hold my hand and walk me through the application process.
If your public offices are anything like ours it's best to get the paper work done right from the beginning. Everything takes forever if you have to make changes.

My mom passed away on my Birthday in 2021, I keep a photo of her on my desk. I thought my mom was a sweet woman and mother. The only family adult in my life who never done me wrong. Unfortunately, she lived back east and in the last 10-12 years we enjoyed many phone calls. We would talk for hours, sometimes 2-3hrs. After my stepfather died my mom and I became very close. It was almost like we became friends. My mom and grandma were the only 2 birth family members I knew.

I hope you find away to satisfy yourself when it comes to your parents.
Death in itself is such a final moment. One day your here and one day your not.

How is Cookie today, enjoying her walk?

Afaict, omibc is doing _exactly_ what he should be doing... not smoking or vaping _any_ type of cannabis product.

And from what I can tell on this thread, you are doing pretty good yourself. (y) Losing weight, walking/exercising and eating right will make a big difference in your life!
