Evening folks. East coast is dark and sleepy

Organizing a new tool box, hoping to consolidate three different boxes I have into this one big one. I’m not convinced they will fit. Probably going to keep one box separate just for the specific model airplane tools.
I have a milk crate FULL of Craftsman wrenches and tools from the 60’s - 70’s. Back when they still made quailing stuff. They were my grandads and no one was going to take them when he died.
So I took them. Once again I watched the family go for the money items and pass right over the real valuable stuff

Grampa’s tools. He Jerry rigged and tinkered and did some major repairs on his own cars for years. Keeping the mechanical glue horses on the road. one was a ragged 1970 Challenger that my mom first drove when she was sixteen. Filled it with oil everyday before driving to work in it. She swore it was fast. I always imagined it running on less than the allotted 8 cylinders 😂. My child brain had already calculated that an engine that needed oil every trip, could not possibly be “fast”.
To me, those tools are valuable. They were his tools and they were valuable to him, he kept up with them for decades. Tools worn smooth in his hands.
I hold a wrench and I can just hear his voice. Cussing and bitching in his New Hampshire accent.
I would have thought his two boys would have wanted to at least take them home.
Oh well, their loss
My favorite ratchets are my Craftsman, You can put a bar on them, they have to be at least 40 years old, next is gray then proto. Sorry about your loss.

Are you going to carpet it or pop some engineered wood down? 😁

Morning Big! Morning OFs!

Do mushrooms grow easily enough where you are? I managed to start some winecaps on a pile of old chippings layered with card and straw down the garden of our old house and shiitake plugs drilled into a pile of logs.
Tried wavy caps in this house but I'm still waiting (psilocybe cyanescens), maybe this year. ✌🏼

The gold looks promising too, they say there's gold around here in Wales but it's too costly to extract.
We are in between 2 gold belts here... The Dolgellau Gold Belt in Snowdonia and the Dolaucothi Gold Mines in Carmarthenshire.

I'm presuming if we find a nugget here it belongs to the "crown", we don't even own the mining rights or airspace above our property here.
Owned by some rich kid born into wealth with a fancy gold hat.

Cheers dude! Good luck.

In the uk, Gold and Silver belong to the Crown. Other land mineral rights are owned 'privately' by various Lords.

Laaadidaaa, alright for some eh... I'll be handing anything i find directly to KC...

Have a great day finding Gold.

:tree:

I've found lots of pebbles so far. The dog has found a stick and a dead bird.

I'll keep at it though.

More coffee and crumpets first.

The old craftsman stuff was very good. The modern stuff isn’t worth the package it comes in. The best ratchets now are Pittsburgh Professional from Harbor Freight. $20 bucks. I’ve had them last years wrenching as a heavy diesel mechanic. Just as good as Strap-On.

Yet another double gorgeous clear day here, starting at 32F and predicted to reach 46F.

My new Garmin watch is due today, which includes A-fib notification. No A-fib this morning and an empty calendar open to debauchery!

You too Doobster! Have you done your walk yet? Tell your mom I said hi! (That sounds like a schoolboy joke 😂)

I survived the supermarket run, just cleaned and loaded the log burner up for tonight, hoovered the house, only need to feed the dog and work out dinner for tonight and then I can get high with you dude!

And it's only 1.38pm

🤙🏼

Curious, are you burning said wood? If so, spread the ashes back around the area you pulled it from. That way you put the minerals back into the soil for the trees to reuse. The best way is chip it on the spot. All forests get their food from the topsoil from decomposing leaf litter, fallen wood and Bear skat....

Good morning friends. Today is going to be a bit over freezing so I expect with the sun shining bright as it already is. The freezing snow that is left in my yard will soon turn to a muddy mess until it dries up so dog baths are sure to be in my future.

Hope everyone has a swell day and is staying warm 🥰✌️
