My longer flowering ace Malawi, this one is definitely more potent. I pressed 20 grams well 19 after cleaning it all up. And got back 4 grams so a nice 20% yield I'm happy with it first press was at 190 got 3 grams there and 1 more gram at 210, I'm sure I coulda got more with a little more patience. That chopped off aluminum tube fits perfectly in the bag for a bottle tech type press. Smokes well on a cigarette, just my preference.

This Malawi phenotype is amazing.
I can watch it non-stop, admiring its beauty. Simply a firecracker!
She has a very strong smell.
It smelled "terribly" from the very beginning :) The two other Malawis I have, don't smell as strongly and have slightly wider leaves.

Wowza. 😆
Early sample just reminded me how freaking strong a good Malawi can be.
This one will definitely jump up and grab ya by the boo-boo.
1 bowl shared between 2 people and we both have a very nice, clear headed high. Body feels all fuzzy buzzy, vision seems “softer”.

This is the best tasting Malawi I’ve had so far too.

I moved M01 to the front since she was shorter than M02 and M03. Zamaldelic is flowering in the front left and M02 showed some buds today (last close up photo). M01 is the short bushy pheno and is a bit behind M02 (two middle photos). I hope M02 and M01 are the best smoke. They’re very vigorous and easy going and put out clone roots extremely well like tropical sativas. I gave them all a good compost top dress so we’ll see if any nute sensitivity show up.

3 weeks from flip. Looks like I got one new Malawi killer pheno? Looks a lot like the photo Dubi posted earlier in the thread (at around the same age). If this one checks all the boxes I’ll have to run it again with more veg time in a scrog in my 4x4 tent for some serious yielding headstache. Glad I flipped these when I did. The one pheno is around 12” from the light and my tent is almost 7ft tall. Looks like it’s done stretch and budding now.

6th week of flowering for my malawis.
On 11/13 now since a couple of weeks.
Smells are getting a bit stronger every week.
I smell Spices, hash and wood. Really exciting smells. I dont smell anything "oily" as many describe. But what i smell is amazing.

I have a question regarding hours of light. I’ve flowered hazes/thais on shorter light regiments (11/13 or 10/14). Would using these light regiments with more tame sativas like the New Killer Malawi pheno result in a less potent final product or is it only yield that suffers a bit? I’ve heard some stuff about plants expressing different traits with different light schedules (DJ short talks about this) but I don’t have the experience to know how true this is. This might be a question for Dubi but it would be great to hear from anyone else that has played around with this and ace genetics.

Happy New Year!

Everything is fairly established now, they were all around 20” at flip. Zamaldelica (now 24”) is in the bottom left corner of the photo. Bottom right is M01 (New Malawi Killer?, 36”) , behind it is M02 (stretch/big yeild, 48”) and back left corner is M03 (wild/stretchy, 60”). I had to lean M03 across the tent to keep her out of the lights.

Hello friends!

My three Malawis at the end of week 9 of flowering under 11/13.
I have identified two different phenos.
2 plants have very similar appearance, very thin leaves and big stretch in early flowering.(Old killer?)
The other plant is more squat witth broader leaves and not so much stretch. ( Im guessing new killer pheno ).
Im really impressed with the malawis for various reasons.
They are very easy plants to grow. They dont need many nutrients. Plants havent been fed anything besides some guano compost teas in flowering and they will finish nice and green. In my case, a rich organic soil was more than sufficient to keep them happy without the need for feedings.( Keep in mind im using hps and not leds )
Here is where im most surprised. The aromas. I wasnt expecting much regarding the aromas as i thought its not malawis strong point. Well aromas are intoxicating and mindblowing. Aroma is very dark. Its the opposite of modern fruity/candy hybrids. Buds reek of leather, hash, spices on a fuel base. Old school vibes.
If you like these kind of aromas, you re in for a treat.
Also huge trichome heads. Buds shining.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Happy to read you are enjoying so much with your Malawi grow and their development @george7 your Malawi plants are also enjoying a lot with your perfect cares ;) and will reward you with an excellent yield of very potent, resinous buds.

The introduction of New Killer mother in Malawi breeding contributes with better terpenes compared to the more rude oily Old Killer on its own.

Thanks for all the great updates, i'm sure others can learn a lot from your grow. Now, inspect the buds frequently and ensure proper ventilation is maintained during this final stage of flowering.
