This makes sense, I should have looked at this diagram more closely in your first response. Thanks again for the info, and for linking that paper.
No problem mang lots of papers on other plants like model systems can be real helpful! Only 5n in that plant small genome easy to learn. There's an entire paper on aneuploids with that same model plant

Just to clarify Johnny:
Your Animal Mints F1's are originals, bought when Seedjunkies made his very first seed drop.
Well before the Wedding Cake, etc.
Not some F-gen repros or S1s from some random guy.
Just to confirm.
Yes F1 from Justblazen, the Seedjunkie breeder.
Bought well before Wedding Cake etc.

The BX should make some very interesting plants.
A Haze infusion . . . Just what "dessert weed" needs ;-)

NL Haze Mints is what I am the most interested myself, as a cross of 3 breeding tools. Both, the Haze Mints and the NL did express their Diesel pedigree during the breeding process and that is what I am seeing in this NL Haze Mints cross too. The Durban Poison pedigree of the Mints I can definively feel in the Haze Mints too. Indeed I had a very similar psychedelic experience with a Haze Mints pheno few days ago, I had with Durban Poison in 1995.

That's what I enjoy the most with the breeding... The time traveling.

Chimera's Simply Irresistible (Island Sweet skunk x Incense Haze) x Triangle Kush Gelato...I.S.S. being most likely (NLxHaze) x SPG. Incense haze being most likely one of the NY Block Haze (NL Haze prob.) bagseeds. The SI line was very haze dominant terps, flowering time and effects wise in haze leaning hybrid forms.

I call her the peach sherbet, her terps are LOUD AF, spot on like a peach apricot sherbet hard candy you get in our parts. This was a reveg that shooted out a dead stump that had a little piece of living bark on her still that a root going, after 2 other shoots got cut to root to keep her, a little 2-3inch shoot was left as the rest of the garden went in to flower with the end of summer, she ended up an almost 5ft long single cola like her mom likes to grow with a few small side branches, and high natural mold resistance and bug resistance and not fussed for nutrients..Never wilted when I forgot to water and the pot was bone dry..Has a real vigor and a will to live you don't see in a lot of new age bottlenecked stuff.

She is a delight to smoke, smooth and super sweet in the inhale and super satisfying on the exhale with the whole loud sweet and sour peach and apricot thing going on with a sandlewood and bubblegum hazey backend, and the high is strong, soaring and long lasting. One feels really good after smoking a joint of this and I normally smoke oil and tobacco joints, weed lies in my bowl sometimes till it goes brown, but after trying one of these I smoked it all night till it was mostly done, the guys I gave a sample to try that night came and raided the leftovers in the morning so that speaks for itself, there are sample sections from multiple cup winning clones that they could sample if they wished. Last two pics were testing her out in the greenhouse. She is done in 8-9 weeks and a really good yielder. One can't see from the pics but the buds are fat and dense even if of sativa form, fair amount of sugar leaf not as good as could be but that is as frosted as the bud is and bud looks amazing trimmed, different shape and look to the norm these days..super frosted sativa leaning super dense sugar leafed bud. Long flowers, not round. She stays lime green even when the temps drop.

:)

Pictures don't do justice to what a good smoke she is..Chimera really has sourced some really good old genes in his stable..super chuffed from what I've grown out of his, all different to the norm/modern and bland..all super useful in breeding projects.

I have some mango griesels that I am flowering out from Getmo/Drohammed Seeds...Well the mango shines through in the terps wow, the girls are very nice smelling sweet fruity, mango...oh my..The one is maybe of the best smelling plants in the greenhouse with this undescribable uber sweet and still sour fruit thing going, but unfortunately is not the looker of her sisters..and least trichomes, but super super loud..I have some of Wallyduck's C5 mango x Nevilles Haze and c5 mango f2's going into flower for testing so exciting hazey days ahead!

I think in the future we are going to start selecting for the big open bud structure of the haze and its ancestors, again..LOL imagine acres of vertically trellised on wire plants, like vineyards, genetically and from the flower structure and large amount of hazey antifungal terpenes and old landrace resilience genes so no mold problems, space between rows for spraying and harvesting gear to drive down, and incredibly high yields of aromatic resin from the 2 dimensional matrix for washing...once we start industrially producing rosin to get its cost down..it is inevitable and the future LOL...

Dentex the more people are just growing for washing I think the less lights we gonna be running indoor and the more the weeds gonna start looking like that again!

i agree with all that. once you get away from plant count laws and yield per watt etc and start with what is the most popular with customer? youll see a switch. i would love to grow see of green 1 bud with haze hybrid or even full haze. think about sammys type plants itd be incredible. or grinspoon like was a good example too. bio mimicry in general is very important and using wild or close to germplasm can make huge differences. the outback haze x n vietnam im growing are like straight jungle plants. a leaf gets injured next day everythings rebuilt. crazy.

More a NL hybrid than Haze. (NL x Haze Mints)
It's a concept. From pure Haze to almost no Haze. But all with Haze.

NLHaze I have done no selection yet.
But I have crossed the Haze Mints to my pink Pan-o-Haze keeper.
And Panama (PanoHaze mother) x Haze Mints, should be great too!
The Pink Haze department. :)

Select for effect

And you will get the look.
(The opposite, selecting for look to get the effect, is not always true.)

Take a 100-110 days true Haze hybrid. Make clones and send them SOG into flowering as soon as they are rooted. They will not need much longer than cookies or kushes that need one month of veg.

Destroyer x metal ohaze (JC) .Smell and type of budding (more extreme here)very close to the Aunt of Farooq x Ohaze hybrid .Took about 15 weeks 11/13

Almost looks like the Destroyer x incense OH plant of the bus stop trip report. :)
Only that yours done with the metal OH is like expected sligthly more chunky and will be speedier. Similar smell to Aunt of Farooq x Ohaze is normal, as they use the same Haze type. Thanks for growing and showing @Dentex
Your Hazes always look great. Loved the A5 x Thai especially.

Noooo,I thought the bus stop haze was the metal type ...

Thanks man, with better conditions they would be better,hehe...I m sure the extreme foxtailing of mine has also to do with sudden increase of temps and possibly excess of feed.

Really surprising this similarity in terpenes, though the farooq hybrid wins there with the rose elements it brings. They both have menthol notes too .

It indeed seems more speedy ,while farooq haze is more balanced/dreamy without much stone like many nlhaze have(I like stone too ,just reporting lol).Potency seems similar but it s just jarred.

I have few seeds from the same dad pollinating a kcbrains haze special and I am pretty sure this cross should be one of the stinkiest, that haze special reeked like stinkbug with some peach elements, sounds disgusting :geek:

Beautiful plants Johnny and Dentex. Dent, that dried Haze looks crucial. I love me a good Haze cross, and they always seem to produce some great plants with great smoke.
Wheather it's a WLD leaner or a NLD leaner. Worth the time.

Yeah I been missing that sticky large calyx and long stacked flower I used to get back in the day that was full menthol..Terp was common back in the day but not anymore..

Was showing a younger guy plants today in the test block, old AK47 cut, core cut amnesia, the "roadkill haze" I found in a Sams widow skunk x simply irresistable that is armpit dead rotting skunk with sweet floral notes and loud haze terps from the SI, its super offensive and can smell it clearly, like amnesia standing next to it..and a serious seeds bubblegum and a 90's widow s1..and the difference in volume is obvious between the new age stuff, even the best smelling stuff, and most the older cuts, or new selections or crosses from old seed. The widow s1 is more frosted than most of the modern plants in testing, more than most cookies hybrids in there and considerably more so than the forum cut growing out in there..amnesia is more frosted than forum, the other haze hybrids and lemon thai amnesia is more frosted..

Buds are muuuuuch bigger in the older stuff..Mold is very few and far between in the greenhouse, spot pm here there one in thousand buds spot botritus starting but we busy harvesting so no concern...but...zero mold at all in old stuff, in fact I was showing mate today the roadkill haze leaf where a spot of PM had tried to jump from some gelato hybrid next to it where there was a spot on a leaf, and you could see how the plants immune system, along with weekly applied microbes, had killed the mold off but there was less chlorophyll left in that spot..you don't see that in most modern stuff, though breeders are selecting for resistance in last few years one can see that too with certain hype breeders, that they are doing a proper job in that respect.

Anyway the dudes parting words were wow man I had no idea the old stuff was this good, I thought the modern was where its at..his mind was blown..He grows mainly for making bubble to press, so also for him to see the potential yields and less stress for disease etc..and if the weed is so loud imagine what the hash will be like..thats the stuff that melts rubber seals on jars .. :) If one is washing anyway who cares what the bud looks like, in fact a more fluffy 2 dimensional matrix is better for extraction.
