Lonesome Low Ryder at wrong time of year (+questions)

Okay, I found one last seed in the fridge and decided to give it a go. This time I put it in soil instead in coco as the first attempt with it was such a disaster and I lost money on it.

Why the wrong time of year? Because I´m growing it indoors by the window.

My first question for this grow is about the nutes. I still have a whole bottle of HESI COCO and I´m wondering if I can use it for my soil grow as well.
Any shared info or personal experience is very appreciated guys.

it´s grown a bit this past week when I first fed it with Hesi coco but it´s still tiny.
I´ve diluted a kelp capsule in a pint of water earlier and will be watering with it later. The soil was rather soggy still a few days ago so I decided to let it dry out a little first.

I got growing pains with this one guys:
I planted this one weeks ago and it´s got a couple sets of leaves and all but they are really small. I know autos are meant to be small but this is taking the piss!
Since I got my kelp capsules (for my own use) I´ve been also dissolving one cap into a pint of water and feeding the plant with it. it seems to like it and does look healthy overall but it´s just not big enough and root development seems to be reeeaaally slow going.
is there anything (low cost) I can do to make it grow bigger faster)
I don´t seem to recall having this problem with regular seeds back in the day.

you are growing the plant indoors and the only light it gets is from a window
about how many hours of strong light does it get?

the weather here is on and off lately but it does get good sunlight whenever the sun is out and as the window is facing west basically all afternoon. I´m not sure about the exact hours each day tho.
I know the light conditions aren´t perfect, but weed is weed, right? or so I assumed.

if you have really low light conditions, your yields will suffer; small stringy plants and tiny buds
but its still weed
i dont think it need more feedings at this point, but if you can give it more light the better

right, so it´s just the light factor that´s off? I´m glad it´s not my feeding lol. I´ll just have wait and see I suppose as I can´t change the weather

as long as you keep your expectations realistic it could be fun grow and hopefully you will start seeing more sunlight in the weeks to come

thnaks, that´s what I´m hoping for you - more sunshine! the outdoor temps are still too cool to put it out on the balcony just yet

Considering that autos like light ... yields will suffer. Autos can withstand 24 on (not recommended) unless it has reduced light for 4-6 hr per day. They do need their rest somewhat. Planning ahead pays large dividends.

I always read that autos grow in almost any condition, regardless of light cycle or intensity etc. sounds like those claims are wrong then

Ruderalis is the plant that is used in crosses to create autos. Being they come from the land of the midnight sun, should tell you everything you need to know.

TBS, metaphorically speaking you can grow them out at 12/12 and you will get 1oz lets say, where you will get 1.5 @ 18/6. Besides although autos can be grown indoors, they fair out better outdoors. Autos only means that they switch to flower by themselves (when they are ready) and have a short growing season. Personally, they are not worth my time nor expense. :tiphat:

ive had mixed experience with autos and think they are fun and could be totally worth it
one group of auto flowering plants i grew out seemed to be shrunken and of a dwarf variety, nice color and smell but nothing like what i was expecting from 3g (~12l) buckets
i grew some other autos from a very well known and respected member here online and was amazed!
they grew into nice tall trees, every bit as nice as the regular seeds i grew
a lot depends on the background of the plants but i think you should be able to pull a few nice buds to smoke

you´re right about the pricing, I totally agree. Autos cost as much as regulars. Trouble is, there´s tons of people such as myself who can´t grow big ones due to their personal grow/living conditions. I´ve thought of growing regs again and just keep topping them to keep them small.
The thing is, smell is the biggest issue for me and say , if I get busted, 1 or 2 little autos might mean less trouble ...??
