Just back after a week away and the plants have survived and looking pretty good... BUT i think i left my laptop charger in France and i have minutes left on this battery!
there may be a short delay while i sort this out ..

Bz3 not looking so impressive... also faded a bit but it can't be from the soil becoming depleted - it is probably down to poor root growth in this pheno/plant and the capillary matting i use to auto-water plants whilst i am away keeping the soil too wet - (fewer roots mean they cn't handle this so well)

Hi again, Final part of the update.. these are the Bubba D S1s, probably closer to 7 weeks now. These are starting to fade a bit but i am fairly pleased at how long they have lasted in the 5.7 litre / 1.4 gallon pots.

Bubba D S1 #3. This is the runt ! - looks awful and very little bud. Given that these S1s should show much more variation that either of the Zhuzh's because they will be similar to an F2 segregation (but with the same parents ) i this is to be expected. I wanted to run more of these but 9 plants in a 2' x 2' space is already too many.

Hi all, these Bubba Zhuzh are nearly ready. I actually harvested number 3 a bit early because it was still fading and i thought the other plants would benefit from a little more room to finish.
Both plant's 1 and 2 smell similar to bubba, a sharp coffee smell and leathery/earthy tones. smell strong and are impressively resinous. I am very pleased with the vigor which is an improvement on the straight bubba and Bubba S1s. no way they would produce 4 branches like that so readily !
BZ1 at about 8 weeks

I'm quite pleased with the soil mix i used for these. Impressed that it got the plants to 7-8 weeks in 5.7 litre pots without fading too badly. They were given a topdress of 1tbs High P guano and EWC at 2-3 weeks and another tbs EWC at 5 -6 weeks.
here is the soil mix: these are UK brand composts but i'm sure you could find equivalents elsewhere..

4 parts Jacks magic compost (peat based garden centre multipurpose compost)
4 parts New horizon all plant compost (peat free garden centre compost with a fibrous texture)
1 part perlite
1 part westland topsoil (adds a bit of weight to it and i like a bit of proper 'mineral' soil)
1 part sieved garden compost
1 part biobizz worm castings

gypsum at 4g per litre of mix To bump up the Calcium
and dolomite lime powder (not just plain lime) at 2g per litre of mix for the Magnesium
