Breckinridge Colorado LEGALIZES Marijuana! Maine Approves Dispensaries

In an overwhelming vote, the citizens of Breckinridge Colorado have voted to legalize marijuana. With 72% supporting the measure, now adult residents can possess up to one ounce of cannabis.

Unfortunately Colorado state law only allows for medical marijuana, so it's more a message to their local police to stop busting recreational marijuana users. Many snow boarders, who flock to Breckinridge for the US Snowboard Grand Prix and other Colorado ski resorts are known to enjoy marijuana recreationally.

Maine approved a bill that allows for licensing of medical marijuana dispensaries. This is the first time that licensing mmj dispensaries has been approved by a vote of the people. Maine is now the fifth state to allow dispensaries.

So its decriminalized in denver?

Im looking to move to a state where i can grow and and enjoy with the least amount of punishment.

I know this thread is about celebrating, but it seems like the right kinda place to ask this question.

And I believe if you stay under 3 plants and don't have a record you likely will not spend any time in jail. Better than the alternative I guess.

Denver is pretty cool about pot, except for yesterday's stupid patient/caregiver redefinition.

Awesome! I hope it winds up like Nederland where all the existing shops add a dispensary.

I was driving down south Broadway in Denver the other day and couldnt believe how many dispensaries there are within just a few blocks of each other, It's time for the quality to catch up with the quantity now.

I could move to Breck very easily. I love that town. But it's only an hour and a half away and I always go up there several times during the winter anyway. Now I will go more often and spend more money there.

WTG Breckenridge! There is hope even as the rest of CO are trying to crack down on the MMJ gold rush. It's just way too much freedom for our fascist government to allow.

the law in denver that voters passed back in 2005 legalized an ounce in the same manner that it was just done in breckinridge- http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...09/detail.html
the cops pretty much just shrugged that off-
Quote:
"The change in Denver’s city ordinance does not change Colorado state law," said Morrissey. "It is still illegal to possess less than an ounce of marijuana anywhere in the state, and that includes Denver."
hopefully the cops out in breck arent assholes, what with a full 72% of the people voting yes on this issue.
regardless, three cheers for brian vicente and sensible colorado spearheading this movement.

Weed has been all but legal in Boulder for years. It's a traffic ticket here for small amounts.

All of a sudden, the city council is meeting behind closed doors to "regulate" the mmj business.

I am fed up. I hate this corrupt, broken, fucking government and I would flush it down the toilet and start over if I could.

It is time to start working seriously towards legalization. Everywhere.

Legalize it, OR ELSE!

yea now the big boys will prey on your flock......sitting around for sure that a big fish to fry will pop up out of the woodwork trying to capitalize on selling everyone ounces........
I hope that people consider BOTH sets of LAWS while enjoying there local privalges....

cause jail sucks but prison is long term and worse. I would stick to tickable offenses and dont be a target for high profile grows........

so its straight up legalized, yet this conflicts with the federal CSA. Until federal law is changed this is just a 'statement' and if they want to bust you, they can.

am I wrong or...?
