I have access to these clones…

Sorry for the long text here, this is the prelude to my elite clone seed run project which will probably be called - the ‘dirty dozen’ 12 strains, seeds and buds. Most likely posted in the soil section starting in the next few weeks.

For my next grow (expecting to be done on Jan 1st 2010, I am going to be trimming at midnight ha ha) I am planning to grow 12 different varieties. I have verified clones of the following strains and possibly some more:

C99( Pineapple Pheno)
Gods Gift aka Purps
Chemdog 4
Angel Tear Kush
G13 Widow
Pre 98 Bubba
Platinum OG
Bubblegum
White Russian
P91
Critical Mass
Martian Mean Green
Kali Mist
Amnesia Haze

Here is my dilemma. I want to do a partial seed run using pollination of specific branches of the selected plants. I know how to do that and I don’t want to have an entirely seeded crop. (Got to have some sesni smoke of these strains… pretty excited for that part of the harvest too, but I definitely want to store some of these genetics in seed for future emergency use)

So, I have sourced some Gibberellic Acid (GA3). I understand how to use this but am concerned about the timeline for this to be successful. I only have my single 400w flowering area so it makes quite a challenge to reverse sex a clone and get the pollen on the straight females with time for the seeds to mature by the end of the flowering cycle, especially without seeding the whole crop. Currently this is my option 1 for breeding, although like I said I am not sure how the timeline will work out.

I have started planning this a few months ago so I knew the possibility of this being an issue so I popped a few Serious Seeds Chronic beans in search of a male (I though that would be a good plant to cross all these varieties with, its sort of standard issue with a good yield). BTW the one female that I was going to keep as a mom is flowering now and although not as covered in crystals as my Blue Dream or AK, the buds are HUGE.

I saved the pollen from this guy but I don’t really like the structure. And I want something nice to cross with my amazing clones with so I have this pollen saved in the freezer as a back up plan.

Right now I am asking all friends for if they have a male plant that is AMAZING, suitable to cross these genetics with. Something heavy weight wise but has a nice interesting high, probably a hybrid but open to anything that would make a good parent in a cross with all these varieties or maybe just some and another plant for others. AS LONG AS IT DOES NOT HERMI! That would ruin my whole project.

I am pretty excited about this project. I have done selective pollination with great success in the past (ask some on my friends here, I have seen the beans go to excellent use. I haven’t popped any of mine yet, I just keep them for emergency in case I ever leave cali… or a friend in need… karma folks)

Basically my options as they stand now are

1) GA3 reverse sex a clone
Concerns: a) timeline with only 1 flowering room
b) This would only give me fem seeds with I would prefer to have regular seeds so that I can do am F2 run to find something amazing similar to the originals
2) Use my saved Chronic pollen
Concerns: a) only have pollen from one male plant that I wasn’t overly impressed with.
b) I don’t want the Chronic plant to take away from the potency of the offspring, maybe that was a bad choice
3) Source some male pollen or cutting from friends
a) No luck yet, hardly anyone I know keeps a breeding worthy male around but there is still time. Clones are in pre-veg at the moment.

Basically, what would you guys do? I know there are some experienced breeders here. Maybe there are some options that I have not thought of yet?

Maybe I should reverse the whole Critical Mass cut and use it to knock up the ladies. Or the C99. She could speed up flowering, but I would love to be able to smoke some bud from her and I wont do that if she is sprayed with GA3. Plus the beans would be fem and I would like to do a huge F2 selection run…

I will be chronicling the whole project here on IC. Probably in the Soil section since all my ladies have different finishing time and nute requirements and I love nice nug grown organic. Hopefully you guys would like to tag a long and give me some pointers and head off any mistakes I might encounter. With the help of those here I’m sure this will be a great success. And some beans from it might end up as freebies in for the IC server fund so maybe they can get out to some of the ppl that helped out here. It all kicks off in a few weeks once the current grow is out of flower. Hopefully that will be in early Oct so the seed run will be done for x-mas.

Awesome project....if u wanna do a partial seed run u can take ur plant out of the flower area, cover the whole plant except the branch u wanna pollinate... drop some pollen sacks into a grocery bag or sumpin and tie it to the branch and shake... keep like that for awhile, then mist ur plant to kill all stray pollen... u'll get some stray seeds but it shouldnt be too bad.. that way u'll get some sensi and some seeds... Good Luck

FirstTracks i read your whole grow. I must say, very refreshing. I love that you are unbiased about your work (although i think that you must be your hardest critic, those buds looked dank). Plus that grow was full of useful information for anyone interested in organics.

thanks for stopping by. This thread will be around for a while. I'm still finishing up my current grow of AK, Sour, Blue Dream and PK. the latest it will go is Jan 1st, 2010. so i will be posting here for the next 4 months.

yup. cool set up they have. and cool people working there.

if the had the martian i would have got it. they do have good selection but a lot of stuff sells out quick. i will just be keeping track of the menu, if something amazing pops up i might have to grab a few more.

moved all the babies into keg cups of FFOF yesterday. they are already adjusting and looking good.

once this things gets going i will prob move this to a grow diary or into the soil forum. for now i'm still finishing up my current grow ...to be done in about a week.

Cindy is the best breeder in your list. I advise you to stick w/ that for poly hybrids.


I just dont think the the old BR is out there. Mostly AB that gets "promoted" (lol) to the OB cut. A sure-fire way to tell, is flower maturation rate. (110 days +).

I would use colodial silver or Sodium Theosulfate before Gibrellic Acid. Still many opinions exists on fem'd seeds. G' acid stimulates the development of auxins and does little more than stress a female into trans-sexual state.
