Please note that on day 25 I added a 2nd 126w LED

We are 15 days into Bloom these were vegged 28 days. Partially vegged under a T5 HO and then when my LED lights came in I removed the T5 and added one of the new LED units. They are being grown in a small 2' x 2' x 4' tent. My setup consists of a DWC/Drip system w/ water chiller set at 68, de-humidifier(s) set to maintain 65% RH during the day and 55% RH at night. My CO2 system was just installed today and is set at 1500 PPM. Because I am not running HPS the tent stays at 80 - 85 f and the exhaust fan wont kick on until I somehow reach 95 f. I added Bushmasters right before flipping to flower. I am using AN nutes.

The only incidents I have had has been at the bottoms of the plants while trying to access the reservoir but I am confident it wont affect growth any.

The one on the right is a Carnival feminized that was topped once and the one on the left is a White Widow feminized that I FIMMED once

Go Warbux, and welcome to ICM--nice pics.

The 126w in a 4 sq ft space is exactly what I need to see. Have you ever tried an HID in that space?

Hey toke, thanks for checking them out. Me personally no, but the person who helped me decide to grow uses HID and he has the same exact tent with a 250w HPS in it. He has to exhaust his tent all the time with the 250w to keep the temps in check. Before he had a 400w air cooled HPS in the tent but it was to hot for the area little area. My exhaust fan has not gone on once this entire grow.

Agree completely. This is pretty much the exact setup I would use. Can't wait to follow this grow. The plants look nice and healthy, which is always a good start!

Day 18 at 12/12

Day 18 at 12/12

Hey guys thanks for checking them out. These lights are great for micro grows if thats what your looking at setting up. mine are at like 17 and 13 inches high right now. If your not going to do a lot of training use bushmasters. I wouldnt have been able to fit anything bigger then a 250w HID in here and even then I would have heat problems. At 126w my tent stays at 80-87.

My light was about 5 inches away from the canopy of the larger plant and about 8 inches away from the smaller one and the only thing I saw was a tiny bit of bleaching on the top tips of the larger one so I moved the light up about 3 inches on her side and the bleaching seems to have stopped. The smaller one has not experienced any ill effects. I am using AN's lightest feeding formula with some additives at 1/4 to 1/2 strength. I think for awhile I was riding a fine line with nute burn. Maybe going from an all in one to AN caused some stress. That was two weeks ago and it has not gotten worse.

Heres Day 18 at 12/12
The plant on the right is White Widow and is about 17 inches tall
The plant on the left is Carnival and is about 13 inches tall.

Day 28 @ 12/12

Day 28 @ 12/12

I am posting this a day late. I didn't have time last night.

Week 4 of flowering. I am following AN's Connoisseur Light Feeding and adding Rhino Skin, Bud Factor X and Bud Candy @ 1 ML per Gallon.

The TDS after Reservoir Change 1330 PPM and Reservoir temp is back up to 69 F

I have been keeping the undergrowth alot cleaner and keeping a little access port opened. To the protest of my girls. They keep trying to take my access port away!

Shorty is the Carnival strain, and the shortest plants nick name. She is showing a lot of pistils as you can see in the pics. She is only 14 inches high.

The Taller one on the right is the White Widow. She is 18 inches tall and is showing good pistil growth especially between nodes. Her tops are showing less growth then Shorty. She doesn't have a nickname.

I noticed in the pics I need to remove some wilted undergrowth.

I forgot how sexy micro grows can be. I started smaller than this and that damn grow bug bit me hard. I went from CFLs to 2800 watts of HPS glory. I am anxious for the LED tech to advance and the prices drop so I can get my electric bill out of the stratosphere. Those are some huge stems in such a small tent; you must have your fan turned on turbo lol.

So what is your initial reaction to these LEDs? Do you like it better than hid so far?

Thanks for checking out my grow. This is a hard question to answer. It really depends on application. For my environment LED's are a god send. I couldn't run a 400w light in this tent because its only 48 inches high and even if I could I would have to have the exhaust fan on to keep the temps in check. With the LED the tent is basically a CGE with an emergency exhaust fan in case the temps get out of control. So far the exhaust fan has not come on during the day time.

I ordered 6 LEDs and an AeroMax unit with TAG upgrade. When my AeroMax unit comes in (it should be sent out today) I can scale up and see how they do in a full scale grow. Until I am able to do a full scale grow it's really hard for me to compare HID and LED in anything but a micro grow. If your going to grow in a small area its no comparison LED's blow HID away.

What did you start growing in? Damn... I would hate to have your electric bill. 2800 watts in lights translates to how many total watts? I would think 4200 watts at least if your running A/C. Man thats a lot of power. I hear you on the grow bug. I actually have two grows currently. The one in this thread is about 3 weeks behind my other grow. That little fan was added during the 1st week of flower. I think the 24/0 veg and keeping the light as close to the plants as possible really helped these stems thicken up.

Nothin' I like better than a girl with nice stems! :yummy:

anything that helps hold up buds has to be a good thing!

Can't wait to see how you do with your new Aero setup. The new misting is pretty darn cool ;)

Warbux,
Do you use any type of dehumidifier in there? If not, what does the RH run in the tent? Mine got up above 65% when I killed my exhaust fan the other night and the plants hated it.

I actually have two dehumidifiers running. They keep the RH in the 55-70 range at 80-95 f. Yesterday I accidentally only had 1 dehumidifier running and the RH was up past 75. Plants generally like high humidity but getting past 75 is dangerous. You may not need a dehumidifier. I think I wouldn't have needed one without a water chiller.

Day 34 @ 12/12

Day 34 @ 12/12

I fixed the PH issue by venting out the tent at night. It now climbs like flowering plants normally do. I have two theories on why this fixed the nightly PH drop.

I have a little 2x2x4 tent. I have it sealed up pretty damn good. This 20lb tank has not budged still way over 800 PSI and its been on a month.

1 The CO2 would pool up at the bottom of the tent from the day and has been causing my reservoir to constantly drop to the point I triple checked for root rot. Venting every night gets rid of the CO2 down there that builds up during the day.

2 With 60-70% at night the plants drank less water allowing the nutes to build up and the PH to drop. Venting it every night is keeping the humidity really low forcing the plant to drink more water and even out the effect.

They are both 9 week strains but the smaller one that used to be the runt has nicer buds now.... Guess thats to be expected.

2 LED units

It looks like you have 2 LED units in there now. Did you double up to 252W? or did you switch to 2 x 63W units?

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy the grow. I am really posting this for people who are considering LED. When I was really researching LED there were a lot less quality lights on the market. I have 2 90w ufos in a box in my bedroom. I agree these things aren't cheap. They do have an expensive startup cost but now that there are quality LEDs on the market its much less risky to take the plunge. There are some legit reasons for led. Your situation is one. If you were to veg and flower one/two plants in a small 2x2x4 tent it could be totally incognito. You would only need to vent enough to keep CO2 in the tent. I was using a 85 cfm fan and it worked great. If you add CO2 you wouldn't need a Carbon filter at all. The quality vendors are expanding their product lineups to fill in the gaps in wattage. Soon 1 light will be all that you need.

Well at 34 days in I think its going pretty well. There is some nice bud formation under the main colas. The Cal def didn't hurt me too bad. at 34 days in I don't know if this grow could be duplicated under HID. The light requirements would be very hard to fit in the small 16 cubic foot chamber.

Hey X. Thanks for checking out the thread. On day 25 I added a 2nd 126W light. I felt that the 60 degree beam angle at 5 or 6 inches from the canopy wasn't using all of the available space sufficiently. My goal was to grow some super compact shrubs using bushmasters and there looked to be just enough room to slide the other puppy in so thats what we did.
