I can't imagine any circumstance under which I would smoke wd-40.

If you have smoked BC bud in the US in the last few years you have already smoked WD-40. The majority of the BC bud we see down here has been ran through big trimming machines like the Twister and Centurion. They lube the machines with WD-40. It works much better than the spray on olive oil that we use. Not speaking from experience but that is what I hear from my friends in Canada. On another note, don't try to use your spinpro on dry buds. My friends tried and it worked like a giant grinder. I told him he needed a giant rolling paper.LOL. It says in the instructions to not use it on dry stuff but he gave it a shot any way. Wet it works great. Dry is a big no no.

I got my SpinPro, and finally got a chance to use it...I must say, this thing is amazing! We did one small AK(about a quarter lb) in about 15 minutes! And, the bud looks amazing! Definitely worth the price...takes about 15 minutes to clean afterward, but it wasn't too big of deal. Either way, a huge time saver. Trimming is fun again!

I tryed mine today. I ordered one, and they actually sent me 2!!!! Been over a month and I haven't heard from them. It works great, thing literally will trim a single calyx if you throw it in there.

they work, get em for under $200 through the main manufacturer. They ask for a minimum order BUT if you can persuade to "test order" 1 or 2 or hell 3-4 for the price then sell the others why not give it a shot.

Manual Trimmer, search on google/google images will pop up with the manu's AND they look exactly like the above. Maybe the handle you turn is different BUT other than that what is really different?

Either way, wd-40 versus alcohol? whoever wrote that must be an idiot because alcohol EVAPORATES. WD-40 is a lube that WILL hang around PLUS alcohol is used to CLEAN shit off. Way different for sure.

Anyone extract with wd-40? doubt it
Anyone extract with alcohol? of course

I like this machine whether a knock off or not versus a powered version just due to the worry of smells, odors tastes that can come from the trimmer itself. How can you go wrong with a bowl with wires that trim the stuff off?

Only downside to this manual bowl style trimmer is the bullshit price, huge markup BUT odds are a LARGE investment is needed WHICH makes sense to try and recoup that faster.

C'mon man, humboltlocal is no idiot. Just look thru some of his posts and you'll see that. He generously posts his knowledge gained thru years of growing experience. Take a look at his journal/thread and you'll see- no need to flame the dude. We need guys like him here. (Though I admit, I'm not too fond of the WD-40 idea on my spinpro, either.....

I have been hearing that the Trim Reapers are making buds smell terrible if you don't clean them before using them.

i can vouch for that
a farmer friend in oregon got one of these for his crew to try out vs the hand done stuff.

i dont like the smell fo the trim reaper buds at all.
but it sure expedited the process.

I bought the same trimmer on Ebay but with a clear lid instead and it was $499.00 w/free shipping as well.
Works real great since I can actually see how long I have to leave my buds in there while being swirled around.
My friend got the clear top trimmer as well but he can run his with the electric motor it came with or with the hand crank. His was $100 bucks more than mine though.

How's the finished product as far as taste and such? I was reading another review of that insanely expensive on (like 13grand or something), and there was one that reportedly sprayed chlorophyll all over and the finished buds tasted like hay...
either way it does seem like a pretty simple contraption for $500

ShroomDr's Mini Review: 7 outta 10. id say it cuts trimming time to a 1/4 or a 1/5 of what it would take manually (at least for one person). There is a fair amount of prep work, you cant run anything bigger than 1/2 a small fist. You end up cutting up your prime colas

It works quite well with strains that are easy to trim (The Pure), but leafy strains (lemon g/misty) need more crankings and a final touch up with scissors.

Mine came with 40 extra wire 'cutters'. I ruined the first wire by running too large buds the first time.

I'd say the machine is only useful if trimming atleast 1/4 to 1/3lb every 3-4 weeks. And Bubble Bags are a prerequisite.

And Bubble Bags are a prerequisite.

An idea!...I have not got one of these...yet
They are on my MUST-HAVE list...along with a vape and LED lamps...all of which I will get in the next 6-8 months...

Anyway, the IDEA!

Would putting some ice in the bottom bowl aid the bubble process?

Just spitballin' here  :hide:

I actually want to recend that rating.

Id give it a 5.5/10
Its only useful on easy to trim strains, there is a fair amount of prep before you can put the buds in, and you lose the big buds. It has basically sat useless. Bubble bags are still a prerequisite
If youre not trimming a half pound a sitting, (im hand trimming roughly 1.5oz per week), its just not worth it.

I've used this one here http://www.hydrotek.ca/en/product.php?id=393 and a buddy used this one on 50 lights http://www.hydrotek.ca/en/product.php?id=429

They work good but if you plan on trimming big cola buds you're better off hand trimming as the bud will be too heavy for the rubber fingers.

Also try trimming same size buds and it'll go faster plus don't over fill it it'll take longer.

I've also know people who used three of the Spin pros to do 36+ lights then they got a Trim Reaper and the Trip Reaper did it as fast as three of the Spin Pros.

One thing with the machines is to pre spray them with a little pam or hemp oil other wise the blades and the mesh grating gets gunked up and won't cut as good.

For cleaning use Orange TKO and ISO alcohol.

Thanks,
Spin pro vid is great, i'm gonna go with that as i only do 3-4 girls at a time in soil under a 400 hps. Personal only so don't need anything more than that. The bigger buds i will still trim by hand but it would sure be nice to be done trimming in an hour or so instead of 4 hours.
Thanks for the tips Bud Bug.
