Hello All,

I am currently running a 1000w switchable in my 8'H x 8'L x 4'W grow room. I have another 1000w MH for my veg room that I am working on. I have 13 plants consisting of DP BB & DP WW as well as some strains given to me which I don't know what they are.

These plants are 24 days old from when they sprouted. I have been tying them down using LST. I just got done building my carbon scrubber, just waiting for my GrowBright 6" 424CFM blower to arrive and activated carbon to fill my carbon scrubber. I will let these grow out probably another week then switch them over to 12/12. I have 2 packs of Nirvana Snow White and Chrystal as well as 2 free packs of Mazar-I-Shariff. I want to get them going so I will start them in my veg room (in the process of being built) about a month before these plants are ready to be cut. I want to be able to move the Nirvana strains directly into the large room as soon as these are done.

I currently have 2 soil mixes going right now. 7 plants in 3 gallon containers with the first mix and 6 in 2 gallon pots with the second mix as follows:

3 Gallon Pots - LC's Mix #1

5 parts Canadian Spaghnam Peat
3 parts Perlite
2 parts SoilSecrets Wormcastings

Powdered Dolomite Lime @ 2 Tablespoons per gallon

2 Gallon Pots - LC's Mix #2

6 parts Pro Mix BX
2 parts Perlite
Powdered Dolomite Lime @ 2 Tablespoons per gallon
Blood Meal @ 1 Tablespoon per gallon
Bone Meal @ 2 Tablespoon per gallon
Kelp Meal @ 1 Tablespoon per gallon

I just water the 2 Gallon pot mix, no other nutes. I am using FloraNova Grow on the 3 gallon pots. I also have Blackstrap Molasses and Seaweed Fertilizer for bloom.

Here are some pics taken last night. Thanks for stopping by.

nice one - those plants look happy. with a veg light as big as your flowering light you may get the best efficiency vegging the plants to an even larger size - especially as you dont have any height issues.

look forward to seeing how it goes forward.

stay safe

Thanks for the comments VerdantGreen. I agree, they look very happy and healthy.

I plan to veg the Snow White and Chrystal to a larger size then my current grow, I started this grow 3 weeks ago before I had all my equipment, soil ingredients, second light, and the seeds from Nirvana. This grow is to pretty much get my new room fine tuned and get some smoke while I'm taking my time with the Nirvana seeds. :joint:

My carbon scrubber is rather large and may be overkill but we will see. It should work fine with the 424cfm blower though. I didn't want to get robbed on activated carbon from the pet store so I decided to wait and order online. I got 3 gallons from a seller that is recommened on ICMAG for $42.00 online. Pet store wanted $50.00 for only 42oz.

sounds good - and you're never going to get arrested for your carbon filter being to big!

nice set up. cant wait to see the start of your SNOW WHITES. u should start them soon under some t5s or something. u can make S.W into a monster plant. i grew her out and got .86 gpw from t5s. im sure a 1kw light will do it justice.

Starting the Snow Whites earlier than previously stated above will depend on how many females I get out of this batch. If my male/female ratio is less than 50% I will probably start the Snow Whites right away, bust my tail and get the veg room together, veg the Snow Whites in the veg room to a nice, bushy full size and then move them into the flower room while my current plants are finishing up. We will see, will know in 2-3 weeks how many females I have.

I just checked out your SW gallery. Wow, they grew awesome for just being under T5's!! I can't wait to see what they do for me under 1kw-2kw. If I got more than 50% female I will through the other 1kw into the flower room and just use a EYE 940w MH to HPS conversion bulb. It puts out 130,000 lumens compared to my EYE SuperHPS putting out 145,000 lumens.

Here's the last shots of veg before they get switched Friday. Got my 6" blower and carbon filter ready to go. They have filled in nicely with an even canopy. They all look healthy and got tied back down tonight. Will feed the 7 in 3 gallon pots one or two more times with FloraNova Grow to give them more N for the stretch then will switch over to FloraNova Bloom, Molasses, Seaweed Fertilizer. The 6 in 2 gallon pots have only been given water since day one since they have organic dry ferts mixed into the soil. Trying the 2 different soil mixes and liquid vs dry organic ferts mixed into soil and will then compare yields, taste, etc. I may give the 6 in 2 gallon pots some Blackstrap Molasses but thats about it.

Can't wait to see male/female ratio! :joint:

Here's some shots with the filter installed and the plants in late veg. I gave the 7 in 3 gallon pots a feeding of FloraNova Grow @ 2tsp/gallon late last night. I am switching them over to 12/12 either tomorrow or Saturday.

I will feed the 3 gallons with Grow for a week or two into flowering then switch over to FloraNova Bloom. I've never used Blackstrap Molasses or Neptune Harvest Fish Fertilizer but I got a bottle of each. How soon into flowering should I start feeding with them?

Keeping my fingers crossed on the male/female ratio, can't wait to find out.:joint:

Does everyone leave there fans on during the dark period of flowering? Or do you have your fans, lights all go off for your 12 hours of dark? I'm just wondering for odor purposes if you leave your exhaust fan/carbon filter running?

I agree, that makes sense. My carbon filter has been working so good, can't smell a thing anywere outside the grow room even though it stinks inside the grow room. I just switched over to 12/12 and it smelled a little bit outside the grow room in the dark period. I will take the fans off the timer.

Thanks,

Here's some shots of day 2 of flower. I am amazed at how many of the plants showed sex in the first 2 days of flowering. I have 11 of 13 100% confirmed Females. Below are some pictures that show the 2 white hairs coming out which I have found on all 11 of the 13. I'm pretty excited, have never had such a good female/male ratio, usually 50% or less.

I guess I will be holding off on starting the Snow White and Chrystal for another month and will then transfer them into this main room. These babies have stretched 3"-4" since being switched over, just gonna keep tying them down to keep that nice even canopy.

Thanks for stopping by:joint:

Thanks BluEBLaZeS. I can't wait to see the same. They are just shooting for the light each day, had to tie the branches down again that shot up 3"-4" above the rest of the canopy. Will take some pics later tonight.

I chopped the only male today which happened to be the small little runt plant that I was going to throw out anyway when it was a seedling. I now have 12 beautiful females which consist of 4-5 different strains.

Here's some picks of them filling in and stretching nicely at Day 3 flowering while I train them in to the canopy. They all just got watered. The 3 gallon pots will get one last feeding of FloraNova Grow next watering then switching over to FloraNova Bloom on the 3 gallon pots and Seaweed Fertilizer and Molasses on the 2 gallon pots.

looking really good. that's a nice and big space to have available. do your plants only occupy 1/2 of that 4'x8' space with one light? if so, i'd recommend adding a removable wall of mylar to reflect from the one side. are you planning on up-potting those before switching to 12/12?

if it were me, i'd have invested in a bigger carbon filter, especially if you're that concerned with the smell. FYI, manufactured ones are packed on a vibrating table so there are smaller pores and more contact area.
