I live next door to Virginia. *cough cough* Weather isnt too bad. But that saying isnt too far off. If you arent super rural, suburban VA is the last place you want to be growing outdoors.

hey greennuggets -

i live outside the DC area (N. Virigina) and i'm doing an outdoor guerrilla grow this summer. i don't forsee any huge problems, got a couple of nice spots figured out.

i think those guys were probably talking about the fact that VA state cops / judges are RIDICULOUS. you never want to meet one of them. there is a story of a high speed chase through DC and the criminal actually STOPPING on the bridge and giving up to DC cops instead of dealing with VA.

take care,

are theyre a lot of choppers looking for plants or what?

Yeah. I stay in the pidmont of NC, about 15 miles from the stateline of NC/VA. Come fall time the pigs fly alot. I remember several major bust around the area and thats how it was found. It can be done, just have to improve your skills as a Stealth Ninja.:2cents:

Depending exactly how long your are staying it may or may not be worth it. Usually the summers are pretty hot. Can and have had bad droughts in the past. Cool weather don't start coming in till around Sept. So plants will usually start flowering by Mid August and aren't ready till like Oct.

Depending on if you're in NOVA or SOVA, lol

I think the easiest/best place in VA is probably the midwestern part...nothing but millions of miles of wilderness...... Nova thinks its DC, Sova thinks its "the south" ...

I dont know, when i lived there (both nova AND sova), the weed came from maryland lol

does it rain at least once a week during the summer? or should i use water crystals? thanks oonce again

I don't know what part of VA you're visiting . But upper NC/So Va I know pretty well. To answer your question. There has plenty been times were 3-4 weeks would pass before any rain fell. The crystals may help, but you will have to provide water one way or another.

im near NOVA. you can figure out where im sure.
every summer the news channels report DROUGHTS
you will need to water manually.
someone else already said it.
but guerilla growing isnt very popular around there. lots of choppers fly by. but dont know if they are grow oriented choppers.... good luck. and VA police are absurd.
almost as bad as my county in MD. o fuck. ya near NOVA is MD. hahahha

ill be vistiting northen VA. and i was told before that a lot of choppers fly by, but im also not sure if they are looking for grows. even if they are im planning to go small only planting about 8 plants a few hundred feet from a highway.(thank god for googlemaps lol).

Lived in the Metro region 46 years now and don't worry about choppers unless your growing a huge crop. Stay away from wooded areas by the parkways, they are patrolled by the US`park police who look for homeless immigrants who camp out in the woods. I would go south central VA. plenty of wilderness available just be carefull, the good 'ol boys dont take to tresspassers

also in NOVA and PG county you have a LOT of military installations so that explains a lot of choppers and the coast guard choppers patrol along the potomac river.

Nice you cleared almost everything up for me feral. One more question though. Do the police go into the woods to look for homeless people or do they just pull over to the side of the road and scan it?

depends on the area. Around the GW parkway in Alexandria and Arlington esp. around the airport they do go into the wooded areas because of security issues I guess. Otherwise they usually scan it with binoculars and go in if they see people or a camp set up. Personally I do a doz. plants with 2 maybe 3 at the most at each location. I figure on losing 50% due to animals, weather, shitty genetics, and folks stumbling on them.
Also stay away from Rock Creek Parkway. Last year some dude had a nice big patch growing and got busted by a 'turtle'. No shit! it was on the news. Some researchers if I remember correctly had a tracking device on it and was following it doing their study and came across the patch. Police were called and put it under survelliance and nabbed the guy. Be safe.

So do you think growing a total of 8 relatively small plants by a highway exit is achiavable. the area is full of bushes and thornbushes. thats why i think its a good place

I would break them up into 2-3 spots so if one is found you'll have the others to rely on.

I visited fairfax VA a few years ago and I don't know if the rest of VA is like this but I was caught with a bit more than 2 grams and had to pay almost $1000 in total plus having to spend the night in jail. Im am not going to that city ever again
