ive just bought my first pollinator
a 20 liter Top Zeef http://www.top-zeef.com/body.html

for the first run i filled it up 1/4 and put it in the freezer and let it run for apr 45 min
the material has been frozen for apr 3 hours prior

what is optimal recommended by ppl using the pollinator on a regular basis?

what is recommended to do with the remains after i have removed seeds
bubblebag ice extraction or making oil with alcohol?

tnx in advance for helping out a pollinator noob :)

Hey there brother I dont know if this will help you but, in my experince I get more hash oil using the QWISO method, than I did when I was using fucking bubble bags.(I can not imagine a plastic bubble hash machine producing more hash than old fashioned elbow grease, or a electric mixer) Also the quality of flavor and potency of properly "cooked"oil is not even comparable to water or dry sifted hashes. BHO, and QWISO are bar none the most potent ways to make extract(although extremely dangerous if you dont know wha you re doing). 14 iu bubble might be close in potency, but not even close when it comes to flavor. IMO.peace

I've personally never had a hash oil, be it qwiso or bho, that has been comparable in taste to some bubble hash I've had. Potency, sure, hash oil has bubble beat, but not flavor.

my goal is to make as much hash from the pot i got as possible
thats why i let it run for 45 min in the freezer
i plan to make ice with the parts i have with a little mold and then extract remaining resin from the material using alcohol and then mix all the 3 parts together as one

should still be far superior to even the best import hash, but this is only my second time making homemade hash

first time i was using a shaker bucket with netting ( slow and hard work ) and didnt add alcohol extracted resin afterwards but friends still told me it was some of the best hash they had ever smoked

this time my plan is to get a higher % resin out of the trim using these 3 methods and adding them all as one in the finished hash

Pics Pics Pics Gunnar :D !
yeah i know
i prefer pix as explanation myself but have only taken a few in the last time

so far ive mad a little pile of kief from the harvested Leb27 x Hindu kush and the Big bud from the garden
a nice little pile from just 2 plants where mold did it its part also

tomorrow i should have more time and i plan to be working with the pollinator most of the day and take pix of the process and post them tomorrow night or the day after

the pollinator will be running a lot the next few days as i feel some discomfort be having all that pot at home, so turning it all into hash and stashing it somewhere else would lift a burden from my shoulders and let me relax more

the place where i work with the pollinator doesnt have the best of lighting but ill find a way to get some good shots for the audience to enjoy.

for security reasons im not going to reveal the end result in grams but ill take shots all the way trough the process

first i let the pollinator do all the healthy pot
then make ICE from the parts with a little mold and at the end im going to extract the last resin from both runs with isopropyl alcohol and add the concentrated oil to the final hash in one big mix

heres few shots as promised from the first runs

all pot portions where small ( not weighted yet)

the pollinator working in my freezer at a minus 25 degrees Celsius

crystal kief from a small portion of Danish passion outdoor skunk

DP kief with a hundred Dkr bill for size comparison.
dunno how much there is yet but should be worth more than the bill ;)

this is the kief from the first 2 runs from 2 plants done seperatly then mixed
one Big Bud and one Leb27xHindu kush from my outdoor garden

these are the first fast snaps from the process but it will be updated as it progresses

I've found that if you sift the material for a lengthy amount of time...then it's almost not worth it to ice hash it as the returns are miniscule...but then again I've never used a tumbler, I dry sift with several screen frames, but the principles remain the same

you can soak the already sifted in alc, but again if the tumbler mesh is ideal for that strain and the duration of tumbling was long enough then the returns are small..but waste not, want not!

the alternative is to run the tumbler for 15 minutes then either ice hash or alc extract the material..

as for combining all the different extractions together....I'd prefer to keep the high quality dry sift separate

my advice would be to run the material for 10 ~ 20 minutes, set this "creme" aside then tumble the material again until it's devoid of resin heads..monitor your progress with a magnifying glass

Happy Hashing!

tnx for sharing your knowledge and experiences on this matter

for starters ive sifted each run about 45 min in the tumbler
i dont either think theres much to gain by using ICE on the remains from the tumbler

the ice where more in my mind regarding the pot i have that have a little mold
but i keep all the remains from each tumbler run and pick the seeds afterwards and then use alcohol on the remains to extract the last resin

well at least thats my plan so far.

I have an okief tumbler and i notice i get fatter yields from the mats that are dried for over a month. I personally hand press my kief into hash balls though. Kief always hit my lungs in a funny way.

the pollinator has been running most of the day

heres a few shots

maybe not best quality but i was busy and also had extremely sticky fingers :)

even without having test smoked it im pretty sure its classes better than best of Moroccan and Taliban hash on the market here
its been dried for several weeks and then frozen prier to the tumbling and when i just gently touches the kief it turns into super sticky smelly hash without having to apply any external pressure besides gently squeezing it betweens the fingers
just cant wait to smoke this and its even far from finished as the finished hash will also have added iso extracted oil for even better potency

damn i just love this part of the growing business :)

as a note this kief was made from Leb27 aka Leb30 or Lebanon 27/30
its sativa dominated strain originating from Lebanon but grown in the harsh Danish Climate for more than 20 years
its not considered the most potent stuff but it has a very nice social sativa high and yields can be very rewarding outside under optimal conditions

looking good there Gunnaguchi..the only other advice I could offer would be to keep your hash or loose resin in small glass jars, not plastic bags as resin adheres to it.

and chubbynugs is right on.....the longer you store material prior to sifting, the more you yield and the easier it is to sift....commercial hash making countries never sift plants less than several months after harvesting.

Happy hashing!

Gunnar that stuff would be scary strong, tumbled then added to ISO oil, nice Hey I have a friend from Denmark he sent me some killer danish pasion crosses and am looking forward to some Nordic grows. There are some quality breeders there. You know erdpurt, danish passion, Happy Brother, hell the list goes on
