lots of good Tex-Mex food. Go to Six Flags in Dallas, Rangers game in Arlington, Cowboys'll be plain soon. Watch the tumbleweeds blow down the highway . . .lol
unfortunately it's not exactly a cultural explosion in West Texas. the only thing exploding is the oil/gas industry. Lucky 4 U! :~)

Fort Worth stockyards have some good barbecue. You can find some good folks playing at Billy Bobs. We watched George Thorogood there a few years back. The Eagles just played at American Airlines Center. My folks stay in Saginaw, basically due north of Fort Worth. Tons of great places to eat out there. Make sure you check out Whataburger(it's fast food...but its fucking good). It also depends on what you like to do. If you're not into bars/clubs, there's Joe Pool Lake over in Cedar Hill that you can go camping at. You may also want to stroll down further east and check out those towns by Cedar Creek Lake. A little more remote, and about 2 or so hours away. Plenty of head shops around Arlington. I guess just about anything you'd want to do...

There are some decent camping places up around there, which I need to get back to. Never really spent much time in Dallas area, although my parents considered moving there once, got real close to it actually. Thinking about a trip to lake Mineral Wells in the winter, definitely have to get in contact with ya if I am in the area. Won't be bringing daisy though, but oh well.

Lots of famous historical crap happened out that way, if you are a history nut you could probably spend some time looking into a lot of that.

Hey Now, I've been to Weatherford. good watermelons and peaches & and pecans are sweet. I'd go to wet willie's every Weds night for music. billy bob's in fort worth for some of the best country music.

The weed culture is little slim, hell even finding a cold beer can be a long drive.
look out for Officer John out on U.S. 10- the guy has gotten some record weed hauls.
join a church cause that's a big part of life in west texas. Once snuck out of church for a smoke and found a oz of dirt weed on the side of the road. I stuck it in my cowboy boot and went back inside to thank Jah.
Lake weatherford is a cool spot, fishing light sailing.
I had a leave that area before the Rangers got me for being a rastafarian- they don't know what that is but being a catholic or a deadhead does'nt help either.
Get your Chicken fried steak at Jan's restraunt east of down town. Her old boyfriend Waylon was nice guy. That's what i wanted to say, lifestyle pretty conservative,
but I met some very nice folks in that area during the ten christmases I did there.
good luck to you stay cool stay safe!

sounds GR8 NOKUY, if you can keep away from all the other vices you ought to be able to afford and enjoy a thousand legit interesting things to do in the DFW area bro. I've been through there 3 times over the years and it never ceases to amaze me at it's size and cultural diversity, imo you're gonna dig it.

Yeah, diffidently be careful man . . . you know what they say about Texas: half the peeps are in prison, the other half are watchin' them.

I got some in the system my own damn self. One watchin, one in, lol

Just left Texas after being born and raised not far from where your at, I would just say follow the first rule of growing and tell no one, they bury you under the jail in Weatherford for growing...in Texas it is "Manufacturing of a Controlled substance" since there no acrual cultivation laws on the books they treat like a meth cook...I guess that is one good thing about growin in Weatherford, alot of meth to take the heat off ya..

Lake Grandbury and Lake Benbrook are killer from where your at and Stevenville is a college town so there are some good bars and good country gals runnin around. There is chill winery on 377 between Grandbury and Stevenville with a trippy Chinese lady that will sit there and get drunk with ya at the private tastings..

Ft.Worth is rockin all kinds of shit to do, Sundance Square has about 15 bars and resturants and women everywhere, Pioneer days amd the Stockyards is good fun and if ya really wanta laugh, go watch the drunks at Billy bobs try and ride a real bull right inside the bar, fukn crazy...

State fair in Dallas is all kinds of fun if ya like to drink and stuff your face and people watch, it runs for three weeks startin like next week I think..

Barnett Shale baby!! buyin alot folks land and boats right now..gotta love that.....i know people makin between $7500-$25,000 on leases right now..crazy money

Be careful roughneckin it, that's some tough ass work if your not the Geologist on site.

Tex
