Are flowering/growth boosters worth it?

Seems like most are just marketing rubbish, and some of the components are aparently not really useful for hydroponic grows, so I was curious to know if you experienced any difference using them.

Nutrients are sure a must, but why fertilizers? in most hydroponic methods there's no need to improve the fixation of the nutrients to an element. I mean, most boosters are based on humic acids, those acids improve the ability of the medium to retain nutrients so, how is that necessary for a DWC?

Plants can utilize different amounts of nutes at different times in their life. You can get by with a single formulation feeding plan but if you really want to maximize the plants potential you need to provide for it at key stages in growth, which is what things like PK 13/14 and Liquid Koolbloom are for.

pk13/14 is a nutrient, I was thinking more about those fancy boosters full of vitamins, plant extracts and such.

I'd consider PK 13/14 more of a booster than anything else. By your last post I assume you mean something like Liquid Karma? That's a supplement more than a booster.

Potassium and phosphorus supplements are not usually marketed as boosters, they are simply nutrients that can be depleted in the flowering phase and that makes a lot of sense.

I was curious about those magic boosters that increase flavor, resin production and yield simply adding some unknown and secretive plant extracts.

maybe like Topmax from biobizz, and such?

Yeah like that.

I just want to know if there's a perceptible difference or if it is for the most part marketing bias.

By the way, I'm new, is it normal to be allowed to post only every 5 minutes?

Did you even read my posts? Liquid KoolBloom, as I mentioned in my first post, is a 0-10-10 formula, a boost of P and K, just like PK13/14. These help the plants put on weight during flower. Maybe take a little more time to read the replies next time. You're not going to get answers unless you're clear about what you're asking.

Canna Boost was used for this grow, although I don't know if that member grew the same way without the Boost to see the difference though.

I was mistaken with the koolbloom composition, let's change it for floralicious then. I think it's more than clear what I was refering to... I specified it in 2 posts, and it's NOT the PK.

I agree to a certain extent, Id imagine that when you use koolbloom, pk 13/14, and such that you would need to adjust your ppms so you don't burn the plants, but ive never actually used them as I just got started growing. Ive always been sceptical of some products, but the hormones make sense, and beneficial microbes if your going hydro organic, but right now im using the lucas formula with alil tweek in the veg, I use 1-2-3 ratio intead of the 0-1-2 ratio, my plants seem to need more nitrogen at the moment. From what I hear the Lucas formula was created so a grower wouldn't need stuff like calmag or pk 13/14, but i may be wrong who knows should speak up. just my 2 cents.

It wasn't that clear, and you then proceeded to link to a product I had already mentioned. Good luck finding out what you want to know.

Mr Spliff - I've been feeding 0-6-9 and my plants were showing what was possibly N deficiency. I upped it to 0-9-9 for one feeding and things looked better. I'm now going back to 0-6-9 and things are going smoothly. Like I said before, you don't need boosters if you use a good base feeding, but using them will help. (Pure coco)
