Homebox Vs Bud box

Hi guy's
I've been toying with the idea of getting a grow tent for the last few days. I've got a cab at the min but it's a bit small and shit as I'm not the best DIY guy in the world. I've had nothing but bother with temps over the last few weeks and I'm hoping the tent might help.
I think I've settled on either the bud box or the homebox but can't dicide between the two.
There dosn't seem to be much between the two tents that I can tell. I think the bud box looks slightly better as it has all the extra pockets for all my bits and pices but I can't get anything that tells me what weight it supports.
The weight will be a problem as the light I have is like over 6 kg.

If I put on my light and ontop of that the weight of the carbon filter and the fan I might have a problem and I don't really want to come back one day and find it's all fell to bits. I've heard the material the bud box is made out of is a little crappy, even so I've seen alot of websites which put the bud box ahead of the homebox.
The homebox looks good but I can't find any reviews for it and I'm a bit worried about all the copys that are out there...I don't really want to be sold a duffer.
Anyhow I'm still undicided so any advice would be appriciated.
Cheers guys.

Have you checked out the Hydro Hut? That's the one I'd buy for sure, you should check them out if you haven't already. They can be bought on eBay for reasonable prices.

no cntest get a homebox coz the budbox is just a cheaper low quality knockoff-not even properly ligfhtproofed round the flaps like the homebox is.... seriously fuck budbox.... known by homebox as badbox lol

I opted for the Homebox XL.

very inexpensive IMO and ships for free

many pros, but the only con is the light supports on the roof aren't as high quality and thick as they should be. I've had it for a year with no problems. Great quality tent, way better than I thought it would be. The outside canvas type material is very high quality and so are the zippers. I open mine a few times a day with no problems.

When assembling make sure you have the frame completely inside the top/bottom of the canvas as I was off 1/2" and it wouldn't go together correctly. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out. Someone esle actually cut the frame poles because they thought it was to large for the tent.

I bought it for $290 + free shipping a year ago and now they have it for $250 + free shipping. I will definatelybuy more of them when I get more space.

I also opted for a bigger carbon filter, so I built a stand. It holds my fans and, carbon filter and speed controller and power strip. In the picture you can see the frame for the lights bowing. I really don't ever think they will break though.

homebox has a soft pvc frame, hydrohut has a supersteel metal (outdoor tent) style frame and the enclosure is much better material, if you can afford a hydrohut that's my reccomendation. I saw a homebox in ocbc in oakland when I was looking for a growtent and I was surprised they charge almost 300 for a flimsy shelled, shoddy interior, sewing coming off the seams, bad investment. Granted I saw the hydrohut before I purchased it at a hydrostore but its totally worth it and has an excellent roof, I have a 1000w light hanging from mine and still have an inline fan on a seperate rack thats included in the setup and also have special straps that strap the optional inline fan and optional carbon filter to.

Or chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo while you sort this out, it will make the difference if you give yourself the chance. Hope you find something suitable.

*P.S. Sorry if you have a homebox, i mean no disrespect that was just my personal opinion and if it hurts someone's feelings or upsets someone, I sincerely apologize, I am just a hydrohut fanatic now after evolving from mills pride c22 which is cool for veg and clones.*

aluminum/steel frame

aluminum/steel frame

The Homebox also has a steel frame (not PVC) painted white. No offense taken here, just updating the thread with the correct information.

homebox has a steel frame actually, m and as for the seams falling apart-not so, i think that was a fake you were describing because the real homebox is great quality....easier to put up than one of those plastic sheds too

whoops too slow on the frame thing lol

i have at least 50# hanging from the roof of my hdyrohut, no problems, totally safe. this worried me also before buying.

i did some research before buying, it was a tossup between the homebox, and hydrohut, i chose the latter due to talking to some bigger hydroshop guys that sold both in their store, just gave them a call, and started asking questions.....they all said they HH, even though there was no $ difference in a sale. i'm very glad i went with the HH.

BTW - the homebox and hydrohut are invented by the same company, in geremany, and manufactured in china, and both sold in US.

impatient, that's a great idea building the stand for the carbon filter!

I was concerned about this as well, since I plan on getting the ~50 lb Can-66 filter for my HomeBox XL.

What were you so disappointed with? The fact that you couldn't keep the light out because you took the flanges off, etc?

yeah probably. but the intakes almost useless once you seal them off as well so it's not entirely my fault i guess.
and the instructions kept referring to pictures that weren't there that was something that sucked especially after a couple joints.

What parts weren't there? It's not a complicated thing, it's just the frame and a cover more or less...

ya true there's other parts as well. I'm not saying it was complicated it just kept saying "look at picture A Look at picture B" and there wasn't any.

You mean Picture A and Picture B didn't exist, or the parts that were being referred to in Picture A and Picture B didn't exist?
