im 20 minutes in and it seems like they don't really know anything yet.
i'd did gather that the dj guy was stoked to be there.

edit: lol now i get the comment about nikka running out and buying new buckets after this

I had to watch at 2:00AM in the morning to get it to run at watch speed.

Some good points but toooooooooooo long.

Some good minds and obligatory village idiot for color and balance.

Short on specifics and facts. Certainly not up to the level of this forum, but overall positive.

Thanks for the kind words gw, ya I completely agree they did not specify or give enough facts, I also wish they would have picked a more knowledgeable bho extractor for the panel. Nothing compared to the information found here and at the skunkpharm website, but still a good watch for resin heads to see whats being displayed to the public on the subject of solvent extractions.

I for one feel high concentrations of plant waxes in bho concretes or oleoresins is a problem that needs to be addressed more often. \

I think the doctor had the best info. I got harder to watch as it went on, but there is a lot of good information being discussed.
We need to get Big D on ICMAG.

they brought up my biggest concerns, smoking it day in and day out for long periods of time, does it pose a health risk? unfortunately they had no answer. i like how nikka wanted throat scans of long turn bho users, lol ok, ill just whip those out...
i am still under the belief its better than smoking all that plant material.
i've only been making it 2.5 years, but its my primary smoke, as i smoke alot and buds were no longer doing it for me. one question, big dan says he blasts into a dish that is sitting in hot water, does anyone else do this? i have the okief tube, so its got a stand, if i tried that it would just force all the hot water out of the bottom dish. i blast it than put the dish with the butane in the hot water bath. he also said he will empty the water out and refill it with hot water 3 times, wow, im hopng that is only needed on big runs as have never done that. i usually let it purge for 20-30 minutes then scrape.

A sparkless lab hotplate wold be better than all that water,imo.

this video made me lol. at least the professor knows his shit, the doc has a slight handle as well. the dude who makes bho is a doofus, not really the expert id put up there to make a viable argument. nikka t is also a huge joke, so obviously interested in $$$$ rather than anything else, even after getting put in his place for using shit plastic buckets.[novice doesnt even know about his own extraction method] remember when the gov't used to tell us "we just dont know enough about marijuana!!!"... lol.

Well he is right, your oil sample shouldn't burst into flames like that when vaping and the demonstration was clearly a set up.

Terpenes are all hydrocarbons and if you get them hot enough in the presense of oxygen, they will all do that. From the color of the nail, it looked like it had cooled below spontaneous combustion temperature on the outside, but started out too damn hot, so it may have still been hotter inside.

We also don't know for sure what he dropped in it. It could have just as well been crushed match heads

I do know that nothing we make has ever done that!

40:38 in nickaT is asking him about what can come off of buckets with water and ice, shouldn't a guy who has been running water hash through buckets for 10 years know this?

or when big d says that the closed systems are much better and safer, and then 20 minutes later says the problem with the enclosed system was his oil sat in the butane for an hour while it was recovering it, and he has no idea nor does anyone else if that really matters if you purge it properly afterward.

and juice, that was so classic. it really made the whole video worth watching. i read the comments when i started the video and i was thinking to myself, why would nikka run out and buy more buckets, they must have proved bho is really bad for you, BUT no, nikka is a fool and in his 10 years of making hash, never thought about the plastics in his cheap orange paint buckets

As it looks to me like he is overheating the nail, maybe to prove a point, I just did the same thing to mine and dropped some BHOAA in to see what would happen.

It didn't burst into flames, though there was black smoke from burning, mixed with the vaporized oil and it left a burned phenolic smell in the air.

Next time I run oil, I will set some aside to make budder out of and try it again, to see if whipping the air in it makes it more flammable.

If any of ya'll have a nail and some budder handy, here is your chance to give it a shot first and amaze us all.

Next test would be a chunk of under purged BHO..........

If that doesn't work, it would be a strong indicator that there was something else in the oil
