About to start... Suggestions needed vol.Spidermites

I am about to finish my tent setup 1000w. Secret Jardin DR150.

Everything is in order except for one concern. I have 2 veg boxes and I have been fighting spidermites for a couple of weeks inside those boxes. Its not that bad but using neem oil with soap is not helping.

I have about 9 strains with clones ready to go into bigger pots to be finished inside the tent. The largest plant has some spidermites but not too many, I have to look for them really hard to find them. Im guessing the neem oil is keeping the numbers down.

Im thinking I should clone the plants I currently have (they are good genetics from seed) and clean them making sure there are no spidermites on them. I would get rid of the plants and keep the clones. Then I will basically nuke the whole room in order to get rid of ALL spidermites which might affect the tent later. Any nuking ideas?

I dont want to deal with spidermites when my plant numbers increase in numbers and in size. I want to start without any problems since I already invested a good amount on this setup which should run perfectly.

OR

Should I continue to try and get rid of the spidermites while beginning to use the 1000w. I plan to run perpetual eventually but I don't have large enough clones to start so I my plan is to first start with big pots and then when I have established mothers I will begin introducing 2 liter pots and eventually fill the tent SOG style.

The tent is inside a room with 2 windows and a small closet. The veg boxes are inside the small closet. The tent will be inside the room TentSize: 5x5ft RoomSize: 10x8ft. It also has a rug which I have already rolled to make room for the tent so basically half of the room has carpet and the other does not. Will it be best to remove the carpet completely or just roll it to the side?

Basically. ICMAG tell me what to do

CLIFFS:
-Currently have 2 veg boxes
-Slight spidermite problem. Not many but they are there
-Need advice on actions to take. details above

kill and clean all the mites off the leaves by hand then hang a Hot Shot no Pest strip inside until all signs of the mites are gone. The strips will work like nothing else I have ever tried but people debate whether they are safe to use or not, def not as bad as what the tobacco industry puts on their plants. You can read about it here. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=122627

Bro get yourself some Forbid 4F. It is the best!

One application and mites will all be dead. One more application just to be sure you didn't miss any, and you will be mite free.

I have dealt with the borg many times and probably will again. Forbid 4F is my new secret weapon.

It's expensive but you can get very small quantities of it on ebay for like 20 bucks. It will be enough for multiple applications.

i've had good luck with Spectracide Malathion Insect Spray Concentrate. it takes just three days to break down. can't really spray stuff when the lites are on tho. Dr Doom ALWAYS kills them tho, but its alittle spendy. the Forbid sounds like the shit tho. Parinthians however you spell it, didnt kill them all off for me.

I went ahead and got some no pest strip.

Ill be using it for a couple days and try to concentrate in the cabs to eliminate any mites that might still make a comeback.

I have began using the 1000w along with strips to make sure no mites make it out. I might post a grow journal in some weeks. Running ASH from Mr.Nice seeds along with some Pyramid seed freebies.

Hope it stays mite free. Ill be using neem oil at least 1 time a week in order to keep the plants with some defense.

The first idea is the one I use.

Take clones then drench the mother, then drench her again, something strong. I use azatrol, it has killed plants in the past, not used on the clones.

For the clones I have reading glasses from the grocery store, 3.25 diopter. Three times a day (sometimes they hide) the glasses are put on and a toothpick is used to skewer any and all bugs. Eggs are scraped off one by one, a few every check. With only three leaves per clone it is much easier than spraying both sides of 75 leaves on the mother. Two weeks and they are GONE.

Three years pass without mite one. New plant added two months ago, complete with spider mites. Quarantine and the above method went into effect immediately, the mother recovered well enough to keep up with an established plant the same height.
Although that same height plant was much smaller when this started, the mom dropped leaves profusely for two weeks and did no growing at all. And grew very slowly a week after that.

Azatrol kills bugs, but really hurts the plants. Used daily Azatrol will affect yields.
Azatrol is a standardized Neem oil with additives so it will emulsify, in quantities sufficient to kill the bugs it clogs the leaf pores.

A sulfur burner will make the little bastards take up residence somewhere else, great for preventative maintenance. I run mine anywhere from 15-20 minutes twice a day with no problems or up to an hour with signs of infestation, be careful though to not "snowball" your plants by leaving it on in room to long! These also help with mold issues too.

The hot shot pest strips work also...you can find stronger ones at the hydro stores usually than big box hardware stores and they are fresher.

You have to take a triple approach to attacking and preventing these little fucktards. A spray like azamax, azatrol, pyrethium, etc. will help knock em down but, you need to stay on a consist-ant schedule ( every 3-5 days) and have the level of attention that Phaeton has shared.

Good luck, Peace

i can control spider mites with one simple application/use of the hotshot no pest strips. in under one week, all mites gone, never to return. best part is, they can be used on flowering plants.

they just laugh @ anything organic

i do a double or triple stack-washing plants with sprayer, then pyritherins(dr doom or whatever), followed by a no pest strip
