How do you keep those peat starters from staying too wet and rotting the stems of those cuttings.

Thanks Weedhound, nobody likes coughing stuff up after working in the garden! The last bag of perlite I had was horribly dusty! I have masks, and find that misting water on it also helps quite a bit to control the dust. This new bag seems to be a lot better, you don't need a mask or a spray bottle! Thanks for the props Vince!! I have a jar of big bud here, it's great smoke, although I wish I had flushed it better, next round will be better! :yeahthats

Hey Hazy!! Thanks for coming by the liberation!

I would claim sheer luck, but that isn't very helpful so I'll try to elaborate.

I seem to have best results using no dome, a heat mat, and low lighting.
I place the clones in sopping wet peat then squeeze it gently before placing it in the tray. The more times you mist/re-dunk/moisten the pucks, the longer rooting will take. Seems like about 1 re-dunk 2 or 3 days after first cutting the clones works for me, after that once they are dry again they are potted with moist soil.

I am trying out some coco pucks now, to see if it helps my clone mortality rate at all...

Hello faithful readers!

I've got a tiny photo update for you from the liberation! All goes well in veg, nothing major going on there so we are skipping any photos around there today...

I do have a new bong though, let me show it to you!

Flowering room as of this morning:

And che's pollen chucking experiments are going well...

And of course some OGA pollen found it's way onto my favorite hashplant..

And I've finally got a few SP's and ZV's going into flower.

A very photogenic Sour Puss clone enjoying the warm HPS glow.

And a sad, but rooted and ready Zombie Virus clone. I had poor results with the first couple I took but the next batch is doing much better..

And I've got some DJ Short Flo, which i forgot to photograph, as well as the following in flower now as well..

Cannacopia's Chunky Cheese: very easy to clone, very slow veg rate.. I've read that they inherited this from Deep Chunk.. can't we get a little hybrid vigor? I hope she gets faster in flower.. :laughing:

Smells great though, probably a keeper or two in there...

Hello everyone!
The other day I attempted to germinate some beans, and I do have some good news!
My homies at OGA know how much I love skunk, so they had sent me these Big Buddah Cheese seeds a while back. I tried to germ a couple and had little luck back then, but the two I soaked a few days ago are breaking ground! I placed them under some CFL's for now, to get them started..
I hope for 1 male and 1 female but any combination of males or females will be welcome in the Liberation!! I love pollen...

And here is a shot of my rooted clones in front of the various mothers.. I have a few more still rooting that I am waiting on, and I'll have to take some back ups to ensure that each mother is tested thoroughly but I think I did pretty well. These are all fully rooted

I'm back with the flowering chamber update..

So it's very important to keep track of which mother is which. I found a couple males just starting to show but I don't know which mothers they came off of. I plucked the male clones but I'll have to pay more attention...

I took a few shots of the almost mature SPG plant. She's starting to look mighty tasty..

Thanks homie, I hope they work out! I'll be growing out a few clones of it here and there as the mommas mature and even make some F2's so the show should be pretty interesting from here on out.. lots of new things from reputable breeders too just incase my endeavors flop..

So, this brings us to tonight's photo update. Seedlings are still doing well, SPG looks great, HP is starting to fill out nicely, Sour puss has really taken off and has some nice looking lady parts, C99's are taking off, DJ Short's FLO is looking formidable, and my various other things seem to be surviving nicely! I put a few Zombie Virus in the flower room as well, #1,2,3, and 5. #4 didnt root quickly enough.

Word, I'll have to keep them under control. That's totally cool, shorter veg times for the clones and out door yields will probably rock :2cents:

So I've been cutting clones, lots of them. I'm trying REZDOG's cloning method this time because I'm out of peat/coco pucks and still experimenting.. trying to improve my success rate. Put about 85 or so in dirt this morning.. no photo of them but you know what cuttings look like..
also my BBC seedlings have been repotted and are strong and healthy. Showing the tips of their third set of leaves.

Flower room is looking good, got 3 more SP's tonight. Here's some photos, nothing spectacular but you can get an idea of what it looks like. This room is over due for an upgrade..

And even though some of them look either hungry, burnt or whatever, the buds are getting big and fat and juicy

The SPG above is at 8 weeks today and is gonna need another couple at least before she is done.

And here is a cool plant, one of the bag seed plants that managed to survive reveg is back in clone form:
Bagseed Indica Female #1 A.K.A. "IF1"

Has a sweet smell, shows sex early in flower, very little stretch. I'm looking forward to seeing it finish in better conditions than she had the first time around... from seed in a 2L bottle! :yeahthats

Thanks hazy! Soil cloning is crazy, a few of them cuts looked sad so I watered them, and they came back to life!

I hope it works out for me, cause it's way easier than messing with a zillion friggin'peat pucks..
